Maybe Portman returned to the role after seeing what they did with the Jane Foster character in the comics. I think it's more of a situation similar to Hemsworth, who was ready to walk away from the series after Dark World before he had so much fun making Ragnarok that he signed on for more. Got a feeling some of those who stayed convinced Portman things would be very different this go round. I mean you got Taika Waititi directing it so chances are he's going to give her some serious comedic and action beats. I'm up for Jane Foster Thor if they go that route, but the neckbeards are going to b**** about it. Did they specifically announce Thor as the end of Phase 4? I mean we're only talking about 2 years worth of stuff. It's the end of the first half. Second half is Black Panther, GotG, Captain Marvel, and Fantastic Four. I wonder if they're going younger or older with Fantastic Four. John Krasinski looks like he's cosplaying as Reed Richards now.

I can hear the Neckbeards collectively crying screams of anguish about Thor: Love and Thunder from here as they furiously film Youtube rants about unsavory subjects and drinking their GamerGirl bathwater.
Also I'm pleased as punch about these Phase 4 announcements. I'm really excited for Tony Leung giving us a proper Mandarin this time.

Yeah the Dark World was a mess... how you make Malekeith such a boring villain is beyond me.... but from what I recall they had a ton of issues where the director felt Marvel was interfering too much no?

WandaVision better just be Liz Olsen doing a cheap public access show in Tony’s old lab, like when Krusty the Clown had to do his show from an old shack. Her own Stingy and Battery Show. And everybody’s favorite SHIELD member. Sgt. Nick Fury. “LET’S GET BIZZZZAYYYYY!”

There was originally a love triangle between Thor, Jane and Sif that the Marvel Creative Committee had edited out, amongst other things. Director Alan Taylor was reportedly locked out of the editing process.

That and Avengers 2 were basically what made Kevin Feige go to Bob Iger about making him and Marvel Studios answer directly to Iger himself instead of dealing with asshole Ike Perlmutter and the Marvel Creative Committee.

So was this the main event of Comic Con? What's left to announce tomorrow? The big thing tommorow will probably be the game of thrones stuff unless they had their panel today and everyone missed it. They had a panel today that was mainly the actors defending the series and people in the audience booing.

Maybe Portman returned to the role after seeing what they did with the Jane Foster character in the comics. They confirmed on the panel that Jane Foster "shall possess the power of Thor." The 'love' side of the story is apparently Valkyrie "searching for her Queen." So the Thor/Valkyrie relationship is dead in the water before it even got started.

They... really can't do the Jane Foster Thor movie... at least not how it was in the comics at all... 1. Mjolnir is gone. 2. Mjolnir doesn't have the enchantment on it... after the first movie it was removed I believe... either way at the very least it doesn't work the same way... End Game spoilers... {Spoiler}Captain America doesn't become Thor in the middle of the final battle for instance.

So the Thor/Valkyrie relationship is dead in the water before it even got started. Considering Tessa Thompson and Taika Watiti both tried to get it revealed in Ragnarok that the character was a lesbian (there was reportedly a cut scene of a woman leaving Valkyrie's room on Sakaar and Thompson has said the warrior that dives in front of her and gets killed by Hela in the flashback was her lover), it was never, ever going to get started.

So the Thor/Valkyrie relationship is dead in the water before it even got started. Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi both hinted strongly on the Ragnarok press tour that Valkyrie was at the very least bisexual if not an outright lesbian, and Thompson and Brie Larson have both been pushing for Valkyrie and Carol Danvers to become romantically involved at some point. I think it was always going to be a case of Thor never having a shot with Valkyrie to begin with.

Forget about Jane Foster Thor, I want them to portray Jane Foster the way she was portrayed in that one episode of Avengers Assemble - a laser gun wielding cowgirl who rides a dinosaur. And yes, I want Darcy back too. She can be Cowgirl Jane's sidekick. She rides a slightly smaller dinosaur. I believe in my heart of hearts that Taika Waititi can do this concept justice on the big screen.

Pretty sure it was Bi... since she was definitely flirting with Hulk, as well as there was a cutscene with a woman leaving her bedroom.

Pretty sure they were aiming for Bi since she’s stated that she’s fine with fans shipping her character with both Thor and/or Captain Marvel.

They crib scenes and general story outlines, but everything is more an "inspired by" sort of deal. This movie is partially inspired by Jason Aaron's Mighty Thor series, but aside from Jane becoming Lady Thor, there's probably not a lot else.

Feige has to be aware that fans have been pushing for Krasinski and Emily Blunt to be Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, and it helps that Krasinski auditioned for Captain America. So he's definitely interested in being part of the MCU.
