Ahh, misread all of that so my apologies. The point is, Mount’s denied it so it probably isn’t happening. If there was any hint of it, he’d have signed a 60,000 year embargo until filming finished or something. To be fair…he very well could be in Avengers 6 in that scene but I doubt they’re gonna start making people sign up until they know when that scene will be filmed. Lots of other productions to work around. Even so, we have to remember where this story first came from; an SEO/Like baiting "news site" that get attention for dramatic headlines that are always, always wrong. Which is why I put it here to show Anson Mount piling on them, as he should.

LOL I really liked Anson as Black Bolt, the rest of that show was really f***ing bad. Granted, the last 2-3 episodes get interesting but not worth the slog that comes before it.

Just can the damn movie because if they cannot get Blade right which IMO is pretty damn straight forward then there is a much deeper problem going on over there.

Friendly reminder this movie was announced FIVE years ago
The original Blade trilogy came out along six years (1998-2004). When (if) this movie finally starts production, it will have been in pre-production as long as it took Wesley Snipes to make a whole three movies.

At the rate this movie is going he's gonna have to be a semi-immortal human/vampire hybrid for real to survive long enough to make it.

After seeing him in The First Purge, I thought he would be a great Blade. Or hell, since Marvel is milking the multiverse anyway, just have Wesley Snipes come back as Old Man Blade.

Mahershala Ali will be Old Man Blade by the time this bows.

Mahershala Ali will be Old Man Blade by the time this bows. I mean, he's only a decade younger than Wesley, who hung up the sword at 41. If their respective versions meet it'll be Old Man Blade meeting Slightly Older Man Blade.

If it weren’t for Mia Goth being in ‘Blade’, I would say just try later.

I've never really seen much reason other than, "He has some residual name value from movies that did moderately well 30 years ago," for doing Blade in the first place.

Like you can cast any actor as the tech-based heroes like Iron Man or Ant Man, but it's much trickier to cast Blade. Easy enough to find a vampire, but a black half-vampire who can act?! Wild that they've found 3 different actors who are Hulks.

Could Michael B. Jordan have been Blade? I feel like they need to just go ahead and shelf this "version" and come up with something new. I know they did the mid credit scene in Eternals with Ali voicing with eventual Black Knight (I think), but still...

Hell, with the multiverse, he could still play him as Blade from another universe. I don't know. The MCU is just a mess right now.

I've never really seen much reason other than, "He has some residual name value from movies that did moderately well 30 years ago," for doing Blade in the first place. IIRC, Mahershala Ali actually approached Marvel about playing the role, and he was on such a role at the time (he'd just won his second Academy Award at the time) that they couldn't possibly tell him no. That's one of the sadder parts about this debacle; Mahershala could absolutely be doing something else, but he's sticking with it because he wants to be Blade.
