The Russos: "We decided we needed the best actor in the world to portray Victor Von Doom." One deluded fan:
Tell Zack Snyder to shut the f*** up!

Kevin Feige could have given the nod to Mad Jim Jaspers or Turner D. Century instead, but no-ooooo, he had to go with Doom.

All due respect to Robert, but there's a ton of talented name actors out there. Why do we have to bring him back for this?

I just wanna know how they write the Council of Kangs out of this whole thing. Do they pretend it never existed? Do they just have Doctor Doom show up with the Ultimate Nullifier or an alternate universe version of the Infinity Gauntlet and wipe them out? But they honestly could've just recast Kang and I doubt anyone would've questioned it. My guess is they're just not even going to bring it up. It's been such a non-factor in the movies it's probably more trouble than it's worth to bother explaining it, plus that leaves the door open to return to it later if you want.

They’re gonna go one of two ways, either ignore them entirely, or have Doom murk them in a stinger(most likely showing the aftermath to keep the budget down and so they could strategically avoid showing Majors’ face by having all the dead bodies face down/looking away from the camera).

I don't think too many of their last 15 big projects actually turned a profit. We are also at the point where in the comic sphere, they usually just do a reset. When you start merging universes and messing with timelines, you move so far away from actual reality that whatever realism people like to project onto those world's is gone. I remember when Spider-Man sales were lagging in the early 90's, I picked up an issue of one of the series, and he was divorced from MJ, Aunt Mae was dead and replaced by another miscellaneous old lady and he was in his 30's universe hoping. None of it was in the spirit of what Spider-Man was supposed to be. Could be worse though, they can just start killing off super heros en masse like DC did.

I still maintain there was a good movie in the 2015 one SOMEWHERE, but network execs stuck their noses in and made it much worse.

There are multiple precedents for this in the comics. The 84-85 Secret Wars: The 90s Infinity War:

One theory thrown around is that he won’t be Victor von Doom but the Anthony Stark Doom variant…so basically evil Iron Man. Leaves room for Victor to eventually appear or even help the heroes in Avengers 6. Still seems like they’re over reacting by blowing their Galactus/Doom load prematurely instead of just recasting Kang and powering through the MCU reboot and then doing Doom right.

Victor von Doom should be played by a romani actor.

Not sure if i'm a fan of RDJ getting cast. Feels like they're doing what Doctor Who did bringing back David Tennant and Catherine Tate back and getting the previous successful showrunner back to stroke fan interest.
At this point i'm more eager for another Spider-Man as well as a new X-Men film after how much i enjoyed Deadpool 3. Granted i'll still go and see the next films out.

I wonder if they're just replacing Council of Reeds with the Council of Tonys and turning The Maker and Doom into one composite character.

He got outwitted by Ant Man and a god in his two major appearances while another variant of his got stalked romantically by a cartoon clock. The dude's damaged goods. He's had years to be legitimized and kept getting almost ritually humiliated.

I don't mind really ditching or delaying Kang, I just feel like blowing Doom on fixing it and doing stupid stunt casting is just kind of wasting potential and feels like they're desperate. I'd have probably just pivoted to Dormammu while trying to rehabilitate Kang on the side.

Well there's one easy way for Marvel to save money on production costs when it comes to necessary exposition:

I’m not even stressed, it’s probably a variant of avengers 2 tony that wanted an armoire everywhere Aka doombots. Headcanon says he’s gonna war the real one, and Reed/real Doom pulls everyone else in to stop him
