Not really a Marvel Disney+ show but I watched the latest LEGO Avengers special and it was a lot of fun. LEGO shows based on Disney properties are the most consistently fun on the service. Slight spoiler for the end even though it’s not anything too massive. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The fourth wall breaking fight between She Hulk and Deadpool was pretty great and Holy Crap, I need more Jason Mantzoukas as Deadpool because it works so well.
Also, how is this of all things Tom Brady’s best acting role?

Like, it's very brief but it's very much an Eartha Kitt/Julie Neymar situation for me. I love Nolan and he solidifies the character but if Jason was the voice for longer, we'd be having a different discussion.

I don't understand why Blade has been so hard for them to adapt and film?

I don't understand why Blade has been so hard for them to adapt and film? This may be wild speculation, but I wonder if they're trying too hard to make it more than it is, namely a badass half vampire killing vampires. I wonder if they're trying to create the effect that the first Black Panther did (which was a completely different project and character entirely).
I could be way off the mark here though.

A half vampire hunting other vampires should be easy to understand and appeal to audiences Don't need to make it complex or deep

I mean... at this point, let Wesley Snipes be Blade in Secret Wars

You could make a decent Blade movie on maybe $10,000, no clue how Marvel is screwing it up so consistently.

This is apparently the case. Ali reportedly has final approval over the screenplay – unsurprising, since the movie was only green lit because he asked for it – and wants Blade to have the cultural impact that Black Panther had.

Blade's not that type of character, his type is the film you go to see and munch popcorn and slip soda while you do.

No, that's my suspicion as well. Almost a year or more or so ago there were rumors Blade was barely even the main focus of the film. A half vampire hunting other vampires should be easy to understand and appeal to audiences Don't need to make it complex or deep Tell that to the studios. To play devils advocate, the last trilogy cemented that concept. They could be trying to freshen up the angle in which the films portrayed but.. Blade's not that type of character, his type is the film you go to see and munch popcorn and slip soda while you do. This. Marvel needs to accept that. I would just recast at this point.

Given Mahershala Ali's age I don't think they have any choice but to recast. He's kept himself in great shape, but realistically even if they started filming tomorrow, he's in his 50s playing a half vampire. Dude is awesome, but physically, I think they need someone young.

Snipes was 42 when he made Blade: Trinity and at the time he'd decided he was too old to keep doing more. Mahershala was already 45 when they announced he was going to be Blade. As great as he is, he never seemed like he would have been suited to the long-term commitment these kinds of movies demand. Had he not already played Killmonger, Michael B. Jordan would have been a fantastic Blade.

Once you have a multiverse, anyone can play any role at any time. True, but once you've established your "prime" versions, you're still expecting them to carry their corner of the franchise for a decade.

Just cast Y'lan Noel as Blade, you cowards.
Dude already did a Blade fight scene in The First Purge when his character, Dimitri Cimber, takes out a bunch of racist killer cops in a stairway. Just make the racist killer cops also vampires, and you got yourself the opening scene to a Blade reboot movie.

As much as I love Mahershala, and have no desire to air on the side of the soulless megacorp (whose CEO was threatening to hold out against striking performers until they started losing homes as late as last year), by all accounts, Mahershala wanting this to be a cultural touchstone of sorts seems to be one of the biggest hurdles. I feel like if all they were doing was a standard vampire killing movie with some tie-ins to Midnight Sons, this movie would've been over and done with years ago. To which, I might add, if you wanted a Black Panther-type cultural event, Blue Marvel was right there, and is the last remaining part to doing an Ultimates movie down the line (granted they want to use Shuri versus just waiting to recast T'Challa after Secret Wars). I mean, they still have time to beat DC to a Black Superman; they don't seem to have any plans to do Icon, and whatever they negotiated with Michael B. Jordan seems have gone nowhere. Speaking of recasting T'Challa, because this is the worst timeline, one of the myriad ugly parts of Twitter has turned the 1-2-3 punch of them not recasting for BP2, Blade's failure to move forward, and Jonathan Majors' unforced error into some sort of conspiracy on behalf of Disney. Sigh.
