At this point, they need to either tell Ali to drop the ego or find themselves a replacement

Seriously, only three seasons? An alternate reality cartoon where most of the models and backgrounds are done and you only give it three seasons? Come on, Disney.

Yeah… I’m asking why end this as well? I assume it’s money… but why not just put it on hiatus and leave it open to come back if necessary? I’ve really enjoyed this series.

I can only assume the viewing figures are pretty abysmal. I mean, then why even do a third season? Just end it if it’s that bad. Not even taking it out on you, it’s just one of those weird things that we as viewers won’t ever be let into and has made things harder to understand in the industry with what to support and how things that work do work. What is the scale needed for something to be a success and what is treading water?

Can they at least continue it in comic book form?

I mean the biggest failure has been trying to make What if have a story across the seasons... that defeats the purpose of what if... and it's honestly not why I'd want something like that.

doesn't that trailer mean it's the end of the what if story they've been telling in what if and not the end of the series? or has it been officially announced that this third series is the last series of the show?

Marvel's Head of TV, Streaming, and Animation described it as "the culmination of a trilogy" back in May. That's pretty vague, but between that and the marketing it does seem that the show itself is ending.

Honestly the second I learned there was an ongoing narrative to What If and that it figured into the broader MCU I completely lost interest in the concept.

And that's kind of the thing, it's a multiverse show that's tied directly into the wider MCU, and the Multiverse Saga has mostly been a bust and is being wrapped up as soon as next year or 2026 at the latest. By the time a potential fourth season gets made they'll already be into the next saga, which I presume will be driven by the mutants.

That stuff’s always been weird. Especially since it sort of does take away from the potential team ups from the character’s on universe to dive into.

That was probably the ultimate mistake... having it be a loose part of the MCU. They should've kept this separate and maybe built it in with (somehow) with X-Men '97 and maybe giving the multiverse to an 'Animation Universe'. Probably a ton of work and thus more money needed in that though.

Really not convinced about Ironheart I really wasn't "convinced" about Agatha having her on show so long after WandaVision and that turned out to be excellent, IMO. I'm hoping this is similar, but who knows.

I remember when St. Elsewhere showed up on Hulu, I started watching it mainly to see how he was in it. He was so good in that and I could see why it jumpstarted his career.
