Some chatter's going around that they might do a CGI Chadwick Boseman for Black Panther 2, which sounds like an incredibly bad idea. Unless it is to pass the torch in a quick scene, that's not good I don't even think they started filming BP2 yet so this isn't a Brandon Lee or Heath Ledger type situation. Find a respectful way to honor him and pass the torch but you can't do a bunch like that

I imagine it will be impossible to avoid some kind of CGI replacement to allow T'Challa to have a somewhat satisfactory exit. From a narrative point of view a line or two of dialogue to handwave away why one of the faces of the MCU isn't around any more doesn't quite cut it. Distasteful as many of us find CGIing the likeness of dead actors into a performance, this is one of the rare cases where it's kinda justified.

If it is really in a collective scene to pass the torch that’s fine but I don’t think they should have him off and on throughout the movie It may be decisive but if they do “kill T’Challa” and have his successor meet him in the “afterlife” it would fit into the whole theme. From jump they always said death isn’t the end, it’s the beginning for his people

The sentimental thing to do would to simply retire the character out of respect for the incredible job Boseman did, but the character was intended to be promoted as one of the primary leads of the MCU going forward, and when it comes to Disney, business is business. That would obviously mean recasting, but that's a difficult transition, and I wouldn't envy whoever had to follow in Boseman's footsteps.

The worst thing they can do is actually recast Boseman with someone else as T'Challa. Everyone would be against it and I can see people quitting over it Chadwick was someone who always wanted change and fought for it. Imo I think a good way to honor Chadwick is to name a woman of color as the next Black Panther. Okoye would be my choice as Danai has the poise to take over this role and not be overwhelmed with embracing Chadwick legacy As far as future faces go, Chadwick's T'Challa will still have an everlasting effect. However, Marvel will def lean on Tom Holland's Spiderman even harder

Going forward Spidey will obviously be the primary face of the MCU, but Sony essentially having free reign to do whatever they want with him in his solo movies and their MCU-adjacent movies is not an ideal situation. This more than anything is why I think they've kept Thor around and seem to be pushing to get Cumberbatch involved with as many things as possible.

I think as long as Holland doesn't get bored, his say will help keep him in the MCU. However, Marvel isn't crazy either. I see a strong push for X-Men and F4 coming once they are on board. Falcon as Captain America should be getting a big push too. He has the TV show with Bucky coming but I wonder if he will get a movie at some point too. Cumberbatch is def about to be worked hard too. Him taking over for Downy as the mentor for Peter will be interesting tho I think it becomes a revolving door as I can't see them passing up a Deadpool/Spiderman buddy cop type movie in a few years

Possible spoiler for Falcon & the Winter Soldier... {Spoiler}...a photo that was going around (and then taken down) shows Sam and Bucky teaming up with Zemo. More fuel for that Thunderbolts fire. {Spoiler}

I was thinking more about keeping the brand strong, rather than Sony deciding the pull the rights again. The Sony Marvel Universe already looks like it's going to be a DCEU-level disaster, and I'm sure Feige and co. won't be thrilled about Spidey inevitably showing up and causing all kinds of brand confusion. Sooner or later I can see them making a play to buy out Sony's control of the rights. But yeah, I expect the mutants to get a huge push when they eventually arrive, and probably Miss Marvel as well, depending on how well her series is received.

Sounds like we have our Moon Knight. Not familiar with him.... however I had been reading rumors of Nick Kroll possibly being linked. While I enjoy his comedy, he will always be Ruxin to me and I don't think Ruxin would work in the MCU. Maybe they could use his voice for an animated show?

Apocalypse in X-Men Apocalypse, big roles in the very well regarded films Ex Machina and Inside Llewyn Davis (he played Llewyn Davis), Gomez Addams in last year's Addams Family animated movie, Duke Leto in the upcoming Dune movie, and apparently he voiced Spidey 2099 in a cameo for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Trading Star Wars fandom for Marvel fandom...... interesting move.

He was also fantastic (and won a Golden Globe) for the HBO miniseries Show Me A Hero

This is an... interesting turn, but if true, a massive get for the House of Ideas.

Disney might be signing the checks, but it's pretty common knowledge at this point that there's a world of difference between LucasFilm and Marvel Studios. I can see why he would give them the benefit of the doubt.
