Nor does it need to really. They can literally have the show involve only TV side characters besides Fury and Talos and the hype would be enough. |

So I'm conflicted about this.
I'm sort of glad this is happening because, well, Evans is Captain America and dude made a role work that nobody thought would work when it was first announced.
But I also sort of hope they don't do some deaging BS because, quite frankly, Cap's story is done. He can be a side character or the head of whatever the new version of SHIELD is (with the "unofficial" SHIELD dealing with stuff going on with Secret Invasion and the like) but I'm not super interested in a scenario where Captain America is leading a team again or anything like that.
Basically, I don't want them to pull off a Goku in Dragon Ball with the rest of the cast's Gohan.

I don't think it's going to be anything like that, mostly because I have a feeling Evans said to Marvel that he didn't want to be the forefront in the new era. Because as you said, his story arc is done. But also, I'm sure he's just making sure his namesake is safe AS Captain America in the MCU.
THE "No, I don't think I will" meme has transcended everybody.

He's going to be a side but important character. Continue to prop up Mackie as the new Captain America
