"The Last Laugh"...gets an 8/10 from me as well.
Pros: -Have to say that Sans Smirk is perhaps one of the best secondary characters to appear in a long time. At first, I thought he would be the sorta antagonist in this episode that causes the conflict but it was refreshing to see him as a positive character that has a sense for humor but just analyzes it in a dry analytical manner. That way, it was a really nice build-up to see him react dead-pan to all the gags while still being supportive of them which makes him laughing at Cheese Sandwich's puns so satisfying. Yep, definitely have to say that, unless Season 9 tops him, he is the break-out secondary character of Season 9.
-The song was really energetic and entertaining, definitely showing that Weird Al has not lost a step when it comes to songs. It is not as good as this season's top number "Better Way To Be Bad" but it is definitely a fun and entertaining song.
-The main conflict was solid as well. Sure, we could figure out the reason why Cheese Sandwich lost his smile (not through a knee injury, surprisingly) but for the age group, they still managed to hit the points to make the story work. We got the main reason behind the factory, how it operated, how Cheese contributed to it and how slowly he lost his laugh up to Pinkie trying to make Cheese laugh until finding out the real way to make him smile. While not containing any surprising twists along the way, it was still a decent effort, getting bonus points for Sans Smirk's involvement in this.
-If this is the final Pinkie Pie-focused episode of the show, it was a good way to go out on. She was funny, focused and did what she does best: making other ponies smile just like she sang all those years ago in the Smile song. This is the Pinkie I know and love and who was my No. 3 pony for so long. All in all, a perfect outing for her except one thing....
Cons: -The whole episode would have gotten a higher ranking if it proceeded like it did...and omitted the part about Pinkie wanting to visit Cheese Sandwich to find her life's purpose. This was my problem ever since I saw the synopsis for this episode and the episode did not do anything to dissuade me from that notion. Pinkie summarized her life's purpose in her Smile Song back in Season 2 already and, again, in the mane six, we have Applejack that is already happy with her lot in life and does not strife to become anything different and could be an inspiration to Pinkie. But instead they just used AJ for an unfunny gag at the beginning without going too deep into it (probably because then the viewers would have noticed that this part of the story is just a bunch of hooey). And the ending with Pinkie realizing her life's purpose (that, again, she already knew 7 seasons ago) comes off as shallow considering that "Yakity Sax" exists (I contend until my dying moments that this episode might be the most character-damaging episode of the entire show, even worse than "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well").
-While the conflict was solid as explained above, it unfortunately also meant that the episode was nothing more than decent and could not attain any higher rating.
An 8/10 seems appropriate.

Sounds like the Anthology 7 panel is underway, so it should be on youtube eventually.

The Last Laugh
A nice episode, it addresses what is Pinkie Pie's future, and the answer is she is already living it.
Nice to see Cheese Sandwich again, and the answers to his problems clearly was going corporate is not for him. A very simple episode, no over the top conflict, a nice breather episode to get us back into the show. And I really some of the new characters introduced here. Pinkie Pie can help any pony.
So the lesson of the day, don't obsess with your future.

Anthology 7 was amazing, but they could only show the SFW version. Uncut version should be coming real soon.

So one of the most batshit crazy things I am seeing out here in Baltimore is people pretty much daring Cars to run them over.. They carry signs saying things like "I bet you can't hit me for a quarter and walk around showing them to cars at Traffic Lights.
Is this a common thing here in the States or is this just Baltimore?

Good to see Japan getting more of the series in their language. Meanwhile, it's the final con day. Tomorrow at this time I'll be in the air. For now though, Obliga-Twi.
