Such as by leaving more space open on the indies since they have signed a lot of bigger indie names that WWE didn’t already scoop up or weren’t interested in. WWE has already shed a lot of their image that they are only looking to sign certain types of guys since Hunter started his toy collection. But now with AEW opening it looks like just about anyone who is really talented, professional, and makes a big enough name for themselves can get signed to somewhere major eventually.

It doesn't seem likely with what he's doing right now but even considering the reputation he might have with people, if there isn't a bidding war with WWE and AEW for David Starr, I'll genuinely be shocked.

I’d say the same thing could happen for his old tag partner JT Dunn. We’re friends on Facebook and I just saw that he posted about how in the last few days he wrestled Mox twice and wrestled Taven for the ROH Championship. One of these even headlined a sold out show at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. Despite whatever rep he may have it’s tough to imagine a wrestler with a weekend like that who doesn’t get signed somewhere eventually.

I imagine some women will be higher on the card with so many men under contract It does seem like the Casino Battle Royale will be a good shot for people to get themselves on the AEW roster to fill it out a bit more like the first one was. Especially for people like Ivalisse and Hendrix who don't have...the greatest reputations backstage to not mess up. And it's not like there aren't people around that they couldn't at least put in the match like Mercedez Martinez, Shazza McKenzie, Solo Darling and Shonzi Blackheart to name just a few.

I think we'll see a lot of people benefit from this war who don't actually get into the cross-fire any time soon. WWE has already created a vacuum that keeps getting filled and AEW has created another big vacuum in turn. Either company can only have so many people in it--at least in theory in WWE's case--but the indie scene is going to keep needing people. Every notable wrestler who gets snatched up means a space for someone else to come up, and we've seen a continued turnover year on year of new people coming in and stepping up to take this places and impress fine.
In the last big wrestling war, there were really only two big names plus ECW. Things are different now, mostly thanks to the internet allowing indies to find worldwide spread and allowing independent wrestlers to become strong names. A lot of people will benefit directly, but the indirect benefit will be just as interesting in some places; who becomes next year's iron man working Mania weekend? Who becomes the one who worked a match or two that everyone's talking about? Who fills the vacuum and becomes the subject of a bidding war two years down the road? As excited as I am for AEW, I find myself more interested in seeing how the whole scene progresses around this war and if AEW so strongly being built on the backs of the indie scene brings more love and attention to said scene.

I'll also say that I very much think everyone involved in PROGRESS' Natural Progression Series this year is going to be offered a contract from all sides. It's not just a ridiculously talented field but also the variety that's there that'd suit both NXT UK and AEW.

He's signed with MLW at the moment, but I'm suddenly seeing a lot more of Brian Pillman Jr's name pop up than I was seeing just a few months ago. Oddly, same thing seems to be happening with Cryme Tyme, who are getting noticed again on the tag scene.

I don't know how long his MLW contract is, but I think he will be in a bidding war at that moment.

I think a guy who would be a good foil for faces is Anthony Gangone. Can easily do the House of Gangone storyline.

Nick Gage is gonna be the guy on the indies once AEW starts. Hes one of the few guys that have a presence on the indies. Plus WWE or AEW isnt gonna touch him with a 5 foot pole.

I mean... all of them?
Field for BOLA this year has a lot of unfamiliar names, and I bet every single one of them is about to get a lot of bookings over the next two years until they get signed to AEW, WWE, or NJPW. Talent isn’t an issue, it’s just getting a stage, and a lot of space is getting opened up.
