Things really started slipping with The World is Not Enough, which was pretty forgettable, before it fell off a cliff with Die Another Day.

I watched every Bond movie a few years ago and Die Another Day is the worst official Bond movie and it isn’t even close. I add official because that spoofy Casino Royale from the 60s is unbelievably, legendarily bad. The production of it was an insane shit show with a half dozen directors and twice as many contributors to the screenplay. Unwatchable despite it featuring David Niven, Peter Sellers, Woody Allen (all playing different James Bonds....ugh) and Orson Welles as Le Chiffre, among many others. Check this out en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_Royale_(1967_film)

Just about the only positives I can pull from it is the ice hotel was a great-looking location and Rosamund Pike was a nice bit of eye candy.

For the most part, bar some terrible CGI in Die Another Day, I think the Brosnan movies were excellent.

Eh, I already have all of them on blu ray if I want to watch them. I think I'm missing one of the Brosnan movies, but other than that, I also own them all. I keep wanting to restart my watching of the entire library. I left off on Live and Let Die a few months ago.

Given how "kind" recent time has been to Bond alumni, why take any chances? (ducking)

I have a bad feeling that MGM will be out of business by the time No Time To Die is finally released

They barely seem to stay afloat as it is, releasing a $250 million (plus probably another $150-250 in marketing money after multiple failed release dates) to streaming might not be something they can bounce back from

They're quite clearly counting on the box office money that wouldn't be coming in if they release to streaming, and even then it wouldn't surprise me if it gets pushed back further if the confidence of movie goers to attend theatres again hasn't returned by fall.

I don't think movie theaters will be open fully until next year at the earliest. This is only my uninformed opinion.

They’ll get some money as they would do with any streaming platform but nowhere near the amount they’d get from a potential billion dollar worldwide cinema release. As stated above, with a huge budget and marketing campaign it would need.to make at least half a billion to even make a small profit.

Apple was floating an offer of $400 million USD for exclusive streaming rights and MGM had no interest
