Just by following the ROH Facebook page it seems like they push Scurll and Villain Enterprises at least as much if not more than any of their top people.
I’ve read speculation that Scurll is pretty much just waiting for his contract to expire and then sign he’ll join the rest of the elite in AEW.
But it really doesn’t make sense for ROH to push so heavy with this stable and tie new people to it, if the main attraction is just going to leave in a little bit anyway.
Bidding war?

Sounds like they're def. trying to get him to re-sign with them. They might've had more of a chance if they'd put the title on him back at MSG like everyone wanted.

It makes sense if they are pulling the WWE shenanigans by giving him the push he deserves right as his contract is about to expire so as to try and convince him to stay.
But no doubt IMO he is going to AEW.

It's been obvious for a while Scurll is going to AEW, unless WWE offers some insane money. In fact I think Flip Gordon was added to the group because they know Marty is gone.

ROH did the same thing with pushing the rest of the Elite hardcore at the expense of the rest of their roster even though there was no doubt they were leaving when their contracts ended.
ROH is not a competently run company.

O'Reilly got the belt before his contract expired. Then lost it in a heatless WK match. ROH just does things, man.

Yeah, this is nothing new ROH did this with Kyle before he left and it did not help
However, as I've said before Marty is a guy who is over on his own. He doesn't need the Elite association to be over or stay over so he has leverage on his side but it is probably too little too late for him there

I assumed it was ROH's way to debut, and get over, PCO and King quickly by using Scurll's popularity. I also assume Scurll is still leaving, and Flip will become the defacto leader of VE.

Come to that, how is Flip himself not AEW bound? I figured that would be a no-brainer.

It seems like a no-brainer to me that you'd try to use a guy you know is over as much as you can while you still have him and then in turn let him put over someone who's staying after you make your money off of his hot run. It's almost to be expected that now we get a "Wait don't leave maybe we will push you!" desperation push from ROH now, when their chance is clearly up and they have already so completely lost the chance to try. ROH is run with spectacularly recurring mistakes and seemingly zero awareness of what is actually costing them their roster.

I get the impression that they're more just making hay while the sun is shining.
I just really do not picture Marty sticking around unless, maybe, they made some major commitments to him. Even then, what could they really do to make it worth missing out on AEW's rise?

It would also depend on his placement in AEW. He'd be featured but where would he end up as far as being close to main event level is concerned Marty doesn't need the Elite association like Adam Page does for validation so it will be interesting to see where his mindset is at

Remember, this is a company that made Kyle O'Reilly it's world champ a month before his contract expired, and Kyle then decided not to re-sign to ROH. This is nothing.

I just figure he'd probably dig working with his friends again.
