How did you like the game?
The game was def a whirlwind. I remember people being upset about the game being so short and the wendigo surprise when the game was built on the serial killer aspect. What did you think about the wendigo reveal and could they have done more with it? The game had a prequel for the VR that came out last year I think but no one really cared about it. They probably could have came out with a sequel to this game and gotten good sales but for what it was, I enjoyed it

Took me until my third play through to save everyone. Fun game but I feel I've done everything I can with it.

Loved the murder mystery beginning. Hated once it turned supernatural with the creatures Yea, i'm of two thoughts If you're going to go supernatural routes, there should be more games to accommodate it. Start adding more monsters and have situations in different spots However, I think battling against a serial killer was better. In a weird way, once you got to the wendigo, the menace left. You felt more afraid of the potential serial killer than the monster

Off topic, but the creators have another story based horror game coming out Thursday, Man of Medan. Can’t wait to play it!

I forgot about it, I think last I heard about it was a trailer they showed at E3 last year or some other event

I played it a few years after it came out and we paid like five quid for it.
We finished it overnight in basically one sitting and it's some of the most fun I've ever had, partly because the game is garbage, and partly because the game kinda seems to know it's garbage. It's kind of a perfectly crafted piece of shit?

It's a great game that I think I'm all done replaying. It really doesn't bear out it's "Butterfly effect" premise, because no matter what, there's at least one character that cannot be killed till the very, very end.

I liked the story and the characters (even Emily), but I was massively disappointed by the complete and total lack of a Butterfly Effect in the game. Despite having hundreds of choices, the game is completely linear with zero branching paths. The only thing your choices affect are if someone lives or dies, but it doesn't matter who lives and dies because the story plays out the same regardless. So in that sense, I feel like the game lied to me, and in all honesty, I think it probably would have made for a better movie than a game; just include some bonus features showing the different ways the characters could have died, and you'd basically get the exact same experience out of it.

I was just blown away when I watched the playthrough they did on the old Super Best Friends channel; the guys were panicky and making quick decisions left and right, yet they finished their first playthrough with everyone surviving.

Hey, this game has an Oscar-winner for "Best Actor!"
I like it and consider it a PS4 essential, especially now that it's super cheap. I like the short length of it too as it lends itself to easier replay-ability. Getting the platinum was worthwhile.

I liked it, but the developers overplayed the Butterfly effect. At the end of the day, 90% of your choices mattered shit. Like the button prompts, you could just ignore and nothing would happen.
Plus, the supernatural bit wasnt as good as the serial killer.
Still, the first play through when i thought i could die anytime was tense.

I really wish it would get an in-name-only sequel. It does a lot of things right, but I also feel like the story has enough stumbling blocks to it that I think the real gem would be in the game they could make if they took the criticism of the first one to heart and made an unrelated followup.
Edit: And now looking it up I just learned of The Dark Pictures. I had no idea that was a thing.

The wendigo twist was genuinely surprising in the best way possible. The first parts with the Saw ripoff killer was... okay, I guess... But it all being a teenage inspired hoax made that overcooked cliche work really well in retrospect.
The Man of Medan looks interesting. But I also worry they're doing to double down on the monsters/ghosts/whatever. Like they're not even trying to hide that, and I worry it'll become a jumbled mess. What worked so well with Until Dawn was the threat was so specific that it didn't need a lot of explanation once you got over the shock of the sudden tonal shift in the story.
I hope MoM does well. I don't know if I'll play it, I want to see what people think before diving into it. I am interested in the multiplayer aspect of it though. Seems like it could be a sleeper party night game if it delivers.

I’m waiting to get my PS4 back from my ex. I plan on picking this up along with Horizon Zero Dawn, Spider-Man and maybe a few other preowned games. I have watched a couple of walkthroughs ages ago, so I might play it with my mum watching as she’s into horror.

Yea you can pretty much get this for $5 every time PSN does a sale and even then, if the base game is still $20 it is still worth it as it as a fun and quick game to play
