I'm trying to better utilize my free time that I seem to have an overabundance of and making it work for me. I've recently started selling on Ebay and using Bing rewards (hey, a coupon for free food is the same as having money) and I'm sure I'm wasting money when I throw out the receipts I get from stores because I "can't be bothered"
So what are some legitimate things you have looked into and how has it helped, or on the other hand-what may be a waste of time?
I hope others could gain some good tips too, not just me.

Sign up for email lists for places you like to eat- they often send out coupons in their email newsletters.

Rakuten (formerly known as ebates). It's free to sign up and the most work you have to do to start making cash back is click the button to activate it. It's legit - I've gotten $75 back so far and I've only had it about a year. Plus sometimes stores will raise the percent cash back rate for a weekend or some such, so if it's something you can wait on, you can get more money back that way.
I found it especially nice around the holidays, since it feels like so much money flies out of your wallet then.
