One of the all-time great Doctor Who writers Terrance Dicks, has died www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-09-02/doctor-who-writer-terrance-dicks-dies/This is devastating me. I grew up like everyone worth breathing reading his novelisations, of which there were so many, they were the backbone of this show in the days before home releases, and he made his mark on all of the iconic Doctors in small and large ways. He wasn't even above contributing to the modern range Almost all the giants of Classic Who no longer walk among us

RIP. I had a lot of his Target novelisations myself. I remember seeing some hardcover editions at a convention once. I was tempted to grab them but they were a bit expensive and I would’ve gone mad trying to complete the set.

The novelisations of Doctor Who he wrote were a big part of the reading I did in my early teens, I read every single title I could get my hands on. Rest in peace.

I don't think it can be counted how many people Terrance taught the joy of reading. He'll never be as recognised as a JK Rowling, but so many people have shared their stories of how they got hooked by reading his novelisations. I can count myself among them, tattered copies of The Web Of Fear among others being read and reread in my childhood. He had a style and a flow to his writing that made them so easy to get hooked by, and so much fun to go through.
Who definitely lost one of its all time ambassadors, and it's sad to see him go.
