GI Joe eco warrior toys made out of plastic I bet.... in the comics, their eco-warrior outfits were made out of recycled action figure parts.

That was as big a swipe at Hasbro as Larry Hama could get away with (in the comics at least), huh? lol The era when he just didn't fight the nonsense Hasbro wanted in the book. Eco Warriors, DEF, Star Brigade... "I gotta fit this crap in my book, huh? Well, guess what....."

I recall one episode of Animaniacs (I think a Slappy Squirrel bit) where they hilariously lampooned the whole politically correct early 90s cartoon where the villain was over the top with stuff like "Bwhahahaha...I am going to throw this garbage in the river! I am cutting down trees! Look at how evil I am!"

I'm so old I remember The Raccoons in the '80s and their waterin' hole being destroyed with toxic gunk by some evil businesseagle, and how Cyril Sneer (the long time bad guy of the show) organized the effort to find him and get him arrested.

Dont forget Yogi's Gang: I was upset that they had Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole in the cast but they literally didnt do anything.

To be fair, Raccoons always had environmental angles here and there. The very first special was a total environmental story. And that Cyril helped stop the villain and was upset as everyone else about what happened to the lake shows what a good job the writers did with character development.

I loved Eco Warriors. Stupid concept, but I just pretended they were blasting acid and stuff.

Poor Airtight somehow didn't make the cut for the Joe's Eco Warrior division despite that sort of thing being his specialty. Flint did though.
