Brock killing everyone in the rumble was actually pretty awesome I still think it would've gone over better if it was a 40-man Rumble.

So, I remembered when we had one of those “Things that WWE do all the time that they should stop doing” threads, and I actually compiled the list of them:
Seriously, imagine the WWE show you’d have if NONE of that happened ever. It’d be f***in’ WEIRD.

Shayna Baszler won the Survivor Series main event last year. Seems weird now but yep.

This is one for the stats nerds like me... What could be the longest TV losing streak in WWE history without having actually been pinned or submitted in any of them? Because Natalya has dropped her last 10 straight matches, but six of them were tag matches where someone else (mostly Lana) took the fall, a battle royal and three multi-woman matches.

I miss Killer Kelly after seeing Hypnosis's post in the thread about wrestlers' voices not matching their looks. Still crazy to me that she never even won *a* televised match in NXT UK.

I never would have expected that woman to sound so friendly and not have a strong accent (unless Portuguese people don't actually sound that different from us) until hearing her from interviews and Instagram stories in the past year.

Is James Drake a mute?

Two years ago he wasn't, apparently: I thought maybe his voice was squeaky and that's why only Gibson talks, but no, Drake's just being kept quiet for whatever reason.

I haven't seen these guys much but I'm not sure I have ever seen a team with such an obvious Jannetty from moment one. I literally forget this guy's face when he's offscreen.

A mute who plays guitar in a Pearl Jam cover band when he's not wrestling.

A mute who plays guitar in a Pearl Jam cover band when he's not wrestling. Is this an interesting fact, or just a joke so astute it ceases to be amusing because I assumed it was true?

The Rumble was my favourite match of the year in the old days, and honestly I still miss it - when they did the Network free for a bit during lockdown I watched this Rumble match and I thought it was great. The pop when Lesnar actually went out was HUGE and he hasn't worked that hard for anything in years. I thought it was a great Rumble. I think the bone of contention was how a lot of people’s favourite talents were seen merely as a means to an end, that being Lesnar’s bodycount in the match. The idea of Lesnar running through half the match in dominating fashion, only to eventually be foiled by Ricochet and Drew McIntyre, setting up title defenses against both of them, was actually a really good idea. However, the way it was executed left a lot to be desired. Why did Erick Rowan, who had spent half of the previous year going toe-to-toe with Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, get chucked out the ring in four seconds like a complete goober? Instead, why not have Rowan slug it out with Brock for about 75 seconds as an equal in the power game, only for Lesnar to use his superior technical wrestling acumen to score an elimination? Why did John Morrison, who just signed a lucrative deal to keep him from wrestling the likes of Kenny Omega and the Lucha Brothers, get chucked out of the ring like he wasn't almost a WWE champion at his peak? Why not have him use his parkour skills to evade the first elimination attempt, and then have Brock catch him and ensure he gets the second attempt right? This informs newer fans of his skill set, and assures older fans that he's still the innovator of the Rumble escape that Kofi Kingston used. There's ways to tell the same story that don't make everyone else look like geeks. And just by revising these two eliminations, Brock Lesnar actually gets a rub from making quick work of two fringe main event talents, instead of wasting thirty seconds beating up some jobbers.
