Giant Haystacks. Terrible worker, but monster WCW booked him for a cup of coffee in the 90s, though!

I'll never understand why a company brings in a guy for one month but I guess he was so bad that they had to get rid of him quickly and had no use for him.

Of course, neither of the two guys originally linked to the Lord Humongous gimmick (Mike Stark, Jeff Van Kamp) ever made it to the WWF, with or without the gimmick. Several later LH's did though, including Vicious and Scott Hall. I doubt Vince would have touched the LH property itself given legal implications, but could have modified it into something new.
Botswana Beast/Ben Peacock is another. Sure, they wouldn't have brought him in as a Kamala duplicate, but could have done something with him.
Just barely makes the cut, but Nitron (later Big Sky, Tyler Mane)
Oh, and speaking of Nikita Koloff from my OP, but how about Vladimir Petrov, his replacement by Uncle Ivan's side after the face turn?

He was diagnosed with cancer weeks after joining WCW.

Purple Haze Lewin and Mongolian Stomper Gouldie are two I thought about for this. They were both very late in their careers, figure that didn't help them on this front. Then again, older and more worn out were hired.

I'll never understand why a company brings in a guy for one month but I guess he was so bad that they had to get rid of him quickly and had no use for him. It was because he was diagnosed with Lymphoma and he went back home that sadly took his life a couple years later. Yes he wasn't good at all as a wrestler but a huge draw in the UK. At that time in WCW you thinking about a 50 year old man (He was 52 when he passed in 98) that is 600+ pounds, work rate wasn't going to be a thing regardless.

I'm pretty sure WCW gave up on Haystacks and released him before the cancer diagnosis. I don't recall that being reported on until he was already back home in the UK. Apparently they had visions or reports of the guy being some sort of Vader-esque superworker and instead they got...that.

You know, I've never seen a Tyler Mane match. I only really know him for his appearance as Sabertooth in the firster X-Men film.

Not sure about him as Nitron but as Big Sky, it was like 1990 Kevin Nash but without the skill, talent, charisma, and Master Blaster Steel gimmick. Big dude, but he wasn't even flavorful enough to be called vanilla.

He's in my OP lol. But yeah, surprising he didn't even get a Ted Arcidi run, especially since he had a role in No Holds Barred.

How about "The Great Kabuki" Akihisa Mera? First guy to use the dreaded 'poison mist'? I'd see him fitting in with the early WWF.
Another thought is Joe LeDuc.

He last appearance and match was against the Giant. Every site I went to when googling it, pretty much shows nothing about WCW "giving up" or ever thought that how he wrestled. It all showing he faced the Giant and left because of Lymphoma was diagnosis. He went back home to battle it with his family at his side.

Jos LeDuc had a brief run in 1988 as Headbanger LeDuc. He's present at one of the King coronations. Not a run per se, but Kabuki was in the '94 Rumble and had a part in the Undertaker angle that night.

But that's what I've always understood of the situation.

I doubt that WCW wouldn't know anything about him to sign him and bring a guy from the UK without having any idea how he is as a wrestler.
