"It is with deep sadness that I must share with all of you that my precious colleague and friend Robert Axelrod 'Lord Zedd' has passed away. This is a bitter sweet reality. In the last year his quality of life was painful to witness and although the loss of him sincerely hurts, I am relieved to know he is free of suffering. There will be more to share in the days to come. He cherished his fans so dearly. It gave his life so much value. Love and Blessing to you all.

He was a terrific voice actor and his characterization for Finster and Lord Zedd are some of the most memorable the series had to offer.

Robert Axelrod, the voice of Armadillomon and Wizardmon has passed. On top of Digimon, fans would certainly remember him as Lord Zedd and Finster from Power Rangers. If you ever got to meet him, you'd know he lit up a room telling stories. More at WtW-[/quote]

That sucks, very sorry to hear. He was a guest at a convention I was at a couple of years ago, though I'm not really a Power Rangers guy so didn't really make the effort to meet him. Now kind of wish I did.

I loved him as Zedd, had no idea he played Wizardmon, which I also dug a lot. I'd been wavering on whether or not to get the fantastic hasbro Lord Zedd figure, but this definitely pushes it higher up my list.

But we never really got to see how "dark" they would have let him go. Him and Rita as a team is damn great and I personally love Zed as a bit of a goof because it worked

Tho referencing the comic, you see how it could possibly go with a little more maturity which I think works as well. Zedd is still getting fleshed but we've seen Rita do some crazy shit already

Man, when Zedd showed up in that 2nd season, you knew shit was about to get real. His first monster effortlessly dispatched the, until then, nearly invincible Dinozords and made Zordon and the gang really up their game. RIP sir and thanks for the childhood memories.
