Jackman and Downey Jr made both roles their own and both had a very emotional farewell/send off in their respective franchises. So which death hit you the most. Just curious of the different opinions out there

Logan. Dude had a miserable life, saw all of his friends die TWICE and went out knowing he did good. Went out on his sword fighting his greatest enemy, himself. He found a reason to hope again, to fight again, a reason to die.
Iron Man sacrificed himself because the wizard told him to. Plus he was an asshole to his friends leading up to his last two appearances. Just because he has a cute little daughter now, it doesn’t negate that.

Tony, that vacant stare where he's there but no there is shattering

Tony
first, Tony left behind family and friends (so you got to see their reactions to his death), as opposed to Wolverine who was the last X-Men standing and just had X-23 (who he'd only known for about a week)
second, when Tony sacrificed himself to save the universe he was perfectly healthy, while Wolverine's sacrificed occurred when he was already dying, so even if he hadn't gone down fighting, he would've died soon anyway
third, "Endgame" was the culmination of twenty-two movies, whereas "Logan" was a standalone movie independent from everything else in the franchise. so while Tony's death was something they'd been building to for over ten years, Logan's death was done simply to have Logan die. if the movie was never made, they still had a great ending for the character in "Days of Future Past"

Absolutely Logan.
I am so..grateful for what RDJ did. I remember my face lit up reading on aintitcool that he was cast as Iron Man, thought it was inspired casting at the time. But the second he died in Endgame..it just felt right. The entire saga had kinda built up to Tony having to be that fallen archetype. It was appropriate.
With Logan, I dunno. I know it was his bow cause he was getting older and the film hits and resonates hard. It was..I think it was how discreet his death was. Out in the middle of no where. Just the kids knowing him. I dunno. Logan hit me a lot harder.

Tony's death was a lot sadder to me. Logan's death felt more poetic, I want to say. Like, it was a lot easier to accept it because of the life Logan lived. It felt like it was his time to go. With Tony, he left behind a wife, a young daughter, and surrogate son figure.

That’s what makes Logan sadder to me.
He didn’t die this world saving hero that’ll be talked about by every character for the next 6 movies.
Dude died bleeding out in the woods. No one knew or cared. He’s a nobody but he went out fighting.

Logans is sadder because this is a man with nothing left and then comes along this lone little girl that gives him hope and something to finally believe in after however long of just trying to survive....and then he dies not even peacefully but gawd damn skewered.
Again Tony dieing is sad but he dies surrounded by those he loves like a hero.
So I guess it is not so much the death itself but more the circumstance of how they died.....Tony gets to die like a hero saving the universe and gets his funeral and everyone gets to griev etc.
Logan dies by just trying to survive only to get skewered in the middle of a forest alone no celebration of his life but in isolation with no one celebrating or even knowing what he died doing just moments earlier.

Logan. Wolverine is my favorite super hero watching him go out like that hurt real bad. Though I still hope that in the MCU they dump a truck full of money on high Hackman’s door to do at least one movie

Logan's was sad but I felt more for Tony since you more or less saw Logan dying coming a mile away.

I haven't seen Logan, but I really didn't see Tony's death as sad at all because I haven't found the character likable since Age of Ultron.

I haven't seen Logan, but I really didn't see Tony's death as sad at all because I haven't found the character likable since Age of Ultron. I'd recommend Logan for the chemistry between Logan/Charles/Laura if nothing else. It's a very different Professor X and Patrick Stewart is just delightful.

Logan, though pretty much only on the basis that I'm a much bigger Wolverine fan than an Iron Man one.

Logan, though I found Xavier's death to be even sadder than that.
I've been kinda ready for Tony to die for a while.

Gotta say Logan. Hugh Jackman had played the character on a regular basis for 17 years. One of Marvel's earliest faces and the only one, iirc, that had never been played by a different actor. Wolverine carried the X-Men franchise on his back. Having a definite end to that was sadder, to me, than Tony's heroic sacrifice. The MCU will carry on without Tony for years. The X-Men franchise without Logan was destined to fizzle out in short order and it did. Plus, you know, *this*. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIl_FiV8V6E

Tony. He’s the guy that kicked everything off. If it wasn’t for the success of Iron Man there wouldn’t have been the Avengers and so on. It was sad to see him go. Logan seemed ready to check out for a while. His was more expected.
