Tony's death was a lot sadder to me. Logan's death felt more poetic, I want to say. Like, it was a lot easier to accept it because of the life Logan lived. It felt like it was his time to go. With Tony, he left behind a wife, a young daughter, and surrogate son figure. There ya go...

I haven't seen Logan, but I really didn't see Tony's death as sad at all because I haven't found the character likable since Age of Ultron. I'd recommend Logan for the chemistry between Logan/Charles/Laura if nothing else. It's a very different Professor X and Patrick Stewart is just delightful. If you wanted to see a movie where Professor X says “f***” multiple times,, then this is the movie for you. Also Laura is awesome and I hope they somehow add a version of her to the MCU when the X-Men are added and they keep the same actress.

Tony.
Logan had wanted to die for a LONG time. It was a relief to him more than anything else.

It’s too bad Wolverine will be recast in the Disney MCU and Hugh Jackmans Wolverines death will be a non-canon footnote

Logan for me.
I didn't really have a lot of emotional investment in any of the Avengers. They spent so much time in-fighting throughout the series I never really felt we saw them as the really cohesive unit they were sold as. Also because everything seems to be written under the same tropes, when Tony Stark dies it just means the snarky and wise-cracking character is no longer in the show, which makes room for all the other similar snarky and wise-cracking characters around him. Ultimately nothing really feels lost to me.

Maybe, but people born after 2010 probably will have no idea who Jackman was whenever Disney starts pumping them out.

Michael Keaton only played Batman twice and he's still very unanimous with Batman.

Tony.
When I saw Logan, it was emotional, but it also kind of felt like a mercy killing. Like, after so many years of mediocre to crappy movies, Hugh could finally rest after all his efforts as an actor to try to elevate the crap he was generally surrounded by (I'd say the same for Patrick and Ian too). In a lot of ways Logan was a redemption for not just Logan the character in the context of the story, but also for the character in the greater universe he had been apart of and for Hugh Jackman as an actor. One last one that was a good one and an extreme high note for the series to go out on.
Tony's was emotional too, moreso because he had generally been written more consistently for RDJr's entire run with the character than Logan with Hugh and he had been in so many milestones of the MCU and of modern cinema with this character. And, while Logan felt like a mercy killing, Tony's death was heartbreaking doubly so because you felt the character wasn't this tired, old, beat up thing that just needed to be put down (like Logan did to an extent). In universe he had a family, he had so much to live for (especially in comparison to Logan, who was generally a hollow man by the end) and out of universe it felt like RDJr's Tony had so much more he could've done even beyond that point as a character, so many more adventures, so many more stories.
Logan was giving an old, broken dog one last glimmer of happiness (through X23) and one last ride. Tony was a hero making the ultimate sacrifice play to save everyone, in spite of everything he had to lose by making that play.

Neither really got me. I saw Logan before I was into the superhero genre so it was a lot of “oh so he’s dead”
Now the three girls next to me in the movie theatre bawling uncontrollably for a half hour might feel differently but I kinda saw Tony’s death coming. With the knowledge that both Downey and Evans we’re leaving I figured they’d both die. I had a tougher time really caring about the family I was just introduced to three hours earlier and their effect on Tony

Honestly, Black Widow's death effected me a lot more because I didn't see it coming. Plus, Scarlett and Renner acted the crap out of that scene.

Logan surely rested well knowing he had helped a bunch of superpowered child soldiers reach a new nation.
