The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson.Huh. That's.....certainly a way to acknowledge things. (While I've never been one who wanted/hoped it to be taken out of syndication or made unavailable for any sort of viewing, which it was for about 5-6 years, I don't think I've actually watched it once in the last 18 years either.)

What Wikipedia, no love for the 80s tag team of Akeem & The Big Boss Man?

Someone at Wikipedia really wants to push the stupid "The Simpsons predicted 9/11!!" theories.

I mean, the ep was pulled from the air simply for the Twin Towers scene after 9/11.
Is it okay to laugh at that gag now that time has passed though?

I still love the idea that there was literally only one bathroom in each tower.

You better start saving up, it's very expensive.

Laughing at an episode that was made years before the event is not mocking or disrespecting the people who died that day.

TBH the only joke that's somewhat uncomfortable is "they stick all the jerks in Tower 1" And Mike Scully, the showrunner at the time, has said that's the one part he and writers didn't like in retrospect, and I think they got it edited out of syndication (and even the DVD?) Someone at Wikipedia really wants to push the stupid "The Simpsons predicted 9/11!!" theories. I'll take that over every asshole posting 9/11 truther nonsense today. I've seen some......stuff on Twitter today (helpful hint, kids: avoid the hashtags), but to be honest I've seen none of the Truther crap and I'm glad for that.
