With Mark Cuban being one of those charismatic billionaires and all I kind of get the feeling he was waiting for the company to get as low as possible so he could get on board cheap. It’s up to him how much he wants to invest in it, but with Impact now having even more with what seems like a bottomless pit of resources behind it, the company could absolutely be restored to a more prominent position. Of course even a distant place in wrestling’s top 10 promotions could be considered a more prominent position these days. Also, how much if at all NJPW benefitted from a connection with Mark Cuban is debatable.

The Cubes is a good guy to have in your corner, although I think Impact’s goal should be less “world domination” and more “lets have a year where we finish in the black” right now.

They've supposedly been better at getting revenue, actually selling tickets to house shows, unlike even peak TNA relevance where their sales tended towards "humiliatingly bad". I do think that they need to remain realistic and not overextend themselves, but their prospects are definitely looking better than they once were.

Compared to where they were when Dixie was in charge, Impact in 2019 is Attitude Era WWF.

Helps that the house shows are joint productions with indies (which they also use to scout potential people to sign, and the twitch streams help. But from everything I've heard the strides Callis/D'Amore have made has been enough where Anthem is willing to allow a bit more spending. Mostly they want to do presentation stuff right now to make the show look more professional, but they're getting there

It’s crazy, one week they’re in the incel network, the other week they’re being retweeted by Mark Cuban.

Their rise in popularity synchs perfectly with their show starting to air on his network.

He retained a percentage of the ownership, but he basically walked away and the Dallas office is not being retained by Anthem.

Is Don Callis still in TNA? I remember hearing or reading somewhere that his endgame was basically pulling a 93 Bischoff and tightening the belts and righting the ship before worrying about making big plays.

Yeah, I certainly don't have any love for Elgin these days, but it makes sense in that he's got main event experience and probably at a good price, given how much he blew things elsewhere. Guessing Rich Swann wasn't too far off that in terms of reasoning, too.
