I was trying to find an anniversary related reason to post about this and the best I could come up with is that this month marks the fifth anniversary of it being available on Blu-ray.
Let’s hold out hope for a 4K.

Loved this movie as a kid. I somehow loved Colwyn more than Luke Skywalker when I was little... Wanted that glaive so bad, couldn't believe the actor wasn't in more stuff... (Later I couldn't believe he was that one balding marquis guy on "Star Trek Deep Space Nine" - didn't look like the same guy at all!). I also really enjoyed the badguys in it and the world it existed in. I suppose there were a bunch of sorta spacey medieval stuff round about that time... With that one fancy Patrick Stewart related King Arthur movie that was strangely flashy and glittery and that movie "Star Knight".
Still, the most lasting part of the movie for my brother and I was what we called the "Krull Scream" - the sounds that bad guys make when they get killed. I have since found out that its like the death scream of a horse, which is frightening. It got a lot of use in the Trevor Howard "Charge of the Light Brigade" (Which is an awesome movie itself, btw. So quotable.).

Of the 80s fantasy movies that tries to cash in on the D&D/Conan craze... "Krull" was the better of the high-fantasy ones.

Unfortunately I read that she was one of Harvey Weinstein’s victims in the late 80s. I guess since she wasn’t regarded as a big name actress it didn’t make much news. I saw her name on a list of victims and clicked on it to read her story. It was just heartbreaking.

I saw the Rifftrax Live of this last year... it's a fun movie but there are a lot of issues with the story itself... but it's fun to watch. I marked out when the glaive showed up in Ready Player One ... was it completely ineffectual like it was in Krull?

I marked out when the glaive showed up in Ready Player One ... was it completely ineffectual like it was in Krull? Yeah, with Krull it definitely isn't just some kind of unexplainable bomb. There are some huge plot holes among other problems in there. One of my favorite moments in Krull is that part where that wizard dude meets his old love. Within less than five minutes she reveals that she gave birth to a son of their's then killed him. The wizard dude instantly forgives her. Not exactly a plot hole, but sure as hell not the way to pace anything with gravity.

I remember there being a classic arcade where they had a lot of old and obscure games there. My friends and I were all over the Krull and Tron arcades because we’d never seen the games for them before. They were fun. You could throw the glaive and kill the Stormtrooper knockoffs.

I mean the glaive is a stupid weapon in every conceivable way; any possible offense is offset by being 4 times more dangerous to you.
But it's awesome.
