Watching the Simpsons earlier, Bart invited up on stage by a self help guru and is asked his name. He said "Rudiger" which made me laugh far harder than I should have. I'd completely forgotten the line but man it tickled me. What unexpected, inconsequential gags caught you similarly unawares in The Simpsons or any other show?

Monkey Island 2 was a computer game where you got to select specific dialogue your character would use every time you talked to another character in the game. A lot of these dialogue options were for the sake of humor, like the 4th one on this list: It always got me that you could use emphasis here on the exclamation "I'll be back!" It would, in theory, make sense to emphasize the word "I'll" or the word "back" in this specific sentence. But "be"? Why would that need to specifically be emphasized? That's what made it funny.

Homer calls Bart on Bart’s cellphone. “Bart, this is a matter of life and death. What’s the difference between ketchup and catsup?” Bart, annoyed, throws his phone off a cliff and Homer yells “They’re gonna cut my head off!” With full Doppler Effect.

The fact that in Homer's daydreams, he's running a low-rent theme park and bullshiting his son's friend over soiled mattresses is so dumb it circles back around to being genius.
