Wow, Meltzer indicating it did roughly 60 buys. Probably why they gave AXS a call.

Sheesh.
I will say I barely saw that show promoted outside of that first press conference and the change of venue announcement but then I'm not the target market.
Attendance seems to have been good, though, so that's a plus.

Ouch, I must admit I didn't hear anything about here in the NYC area but the venue looked packed from what I saw on twitter.

When fans are used to seeing events on their Twitch feed, it's hard to convince them to pay cash to watch a glorified house show. AAA doing nearly no publicity did them no favors.

Yikes.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being more than that as with numbers that low even if you get one high outlier market it can jump up a lot.
Even then yikes.

Ouch, I must admit I didn't hear anything about here in the NYC area but the venue looked packed from what I saw on twitter. It was packed. Around 3500 people at least. Show was rarely promoted and went vs WWE Clash of the Champions. No wonder the replay will be on AXS, seemed that Anthem(Impact) helping AAA again.

Not surprising. The show was promoted locally and it drew nicely but it wasn’t advertised well in terms of being on PPV. Wrestling fans in the know are probably saving their money for AEW PPVs at this point.

Why pay for it when you’ll see 80% of it on Botchamania?

Yeah, I’d say a complete swing and a miss on the promotion

First I thought 60,000 and was in awe, but this is so much better! Hilarious. I don't know, doesn't wrestlers have at least family who could chip in to not make the buyrate look so bad... e: I want to hear Konnan's reaction to these news.

Jesus Christ. I almost watched this show. I would have been part of a pretty select group.

To be honest, I didn't even know it was a PPV event. Thought it was just a special event in NYC, with attendance being quite good there. Only thing I saw mentioning any kind of broadcast was AXS saying they were going to show it.
That was some garbage promotion. Also didn't do themselves any favors by running it against a WWE PPV event.

Luckily it cost 50,000 dollars to order the PPV, so they made a killing

In addition to bad promotion, even when AAA has stuff people are willing to see, and they do have stuff that is worthwhile, it does them no favors that AAA has never had a smooth PPV that I am aware of. It's always riddled with production problems, and fans know that and are less apt to pay for a glitchy mess.
