Remember when going to see the new Star Wars movie was an event? You had people camping out in theaters to get tickets.
Now, they come out every year, and it doesn't feel special anymore.

I really hope the fans won't be assholes to whoever gets cast as Young Luke. I can't see that not happening due to the sickening behavior toward against Kelly Marie Tran, Jake Lloyd and especially Ahmed Best.

Much as he's laughing it off, John Boyega has taken his share of abuse, and Daisy Ridley very quickly abandoned social media after Force Awakens. Hell, the little girl who played Morgan Stark in Endgame received torrents of abuse on her Instagram account. Big franchise fandoms have a ton of scumbags in them who don't give a shit how young the targets of their abuse is.

Well, in A New Hope Luke had recognized him, although it was clear he doesn't see him often. So there is some leeway here.

Those of us that used to camp out now just order tickets a month in advance.

It is apparently set 7 years post Episode III, They’ll be fine Reminder that Jake Lloyd was nine years old when he was in Phantom Menace and ten when he started receiving abuse from so-called fans. If the kid's parents are smart, they'll keep him far away from any and all publicity.

Distancing themselves away from the latest trilogy.
Setting it early and away from the characters we know is a good move. Start fresh.
Heres hoping they've learnt there lessons and actually plan a story out this time rather than randomly hurling shit around, dropping plot points at random and having zero direction.
Guessing no Sith in this one. Since in TPM isnt it mentioned they havent been seen for 1000 years?

I like it, because there's a good chance they won't touch Revan. And the Sith were always there, they were just in hiding

This "High Republic" era isn't one that's really been explored in Legends or the new canon. Though there was a Hutt Jedi Knight active during that time in Legends. Should be interesting to see what they do.
As for the Sith, I imagine we'll see any potential Sith Lords at this time hiding in plain sight like Darth Sidious did when he was Senator Palpatine. In Legends, Darth Plaugeis was publicly a member of the Intergalactic Banking Clan while his master, Darth Tenebrous, was a famed starship designer.

I would much rather jump forward in the timeline than go backwards, but eh, it is what it is.

There’s so many gaps that have never been explored. Even 70-80% of the old EU stayed between 40bby and 40aby. This is welcomed by me because it’s a clean slate

Then you jump ahead to Qui-Gon Jinn's time. And after 40 ABY, you jumped right ahead to the Legacy era around 127 ABY. There's literal thousands of years' worth of stories to tell even if Disney kept everything from Legends 100% canon.

That would be a cool timeline to see even if it were just a flashback of a huge confrontation like at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring
