This film was amazing. Flat out amazing.
It was so god damn gorgeous too. You may think you know how beautiful this will be because of the trailers and how beautiful the first film was, but throw those expectations out the window, cause it is more beautiful than that.
The story is amazing, and emotional. The various references were hilarious and well timed and utilized. There was just a feeling of reverence to the material to everything. A sense of heart in this film I honestly feel has been missing from many superhero films in recent years. Instantly one of my favorite superhero films ever. If you love Spider-Man, you owe it to yourself to see this film. I thought No Way Home did a great job paying homage to the live action films, this is like that, but for all of Spider-Man media.

I saw it. It's...alright. Take away all the cameos, easter egg references and the story is cliché and convoluted, with some major narrative plot holes, also, I'm sorry, but when faced with a certain option, NO Spider would act the way they're acting towards Miles here. Made me want to punch them.

Legitimately it's so stunning that if we got animated superhero fare at or near this quality all the time I'd never need any live action stuff superhero stuff again. Reality will never be able to mirror the comics like animation can. This is a masterpiece

My recommendation is to see it in IMAX, it looks glorious in that format.

Going to go see it in a few hours, feeling very eager for it. On paper do kind of wish it was about 20 minutes shorter though.

It's chock full of so much it almost had to have the runtime. Goes by quickly.

It's... fine?
It looks absolutely gorgeous, but beyond that it was just... fine.

So, who voices Mary Jane in this one? It’s not Zoë Kravitz.

Just got in form seeing it and absolutely loved it. Very eager for the third one. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Have to imagine this is going to be one of those things like Heart of Ice where after this it completely changes how future writers approach the Spot. Kind of don't know how you play this guy as an ineffectual joke villain ever again after a depiction like this. ... Even if it is pretty obviously aping Doctor Manhattan.
Also was super glad to see Peni and eventually the others pop up. Definitely was feeling like I was going to miss them going into it.

Did over $17 million just for early screenings, making it the second highest preview gross for an animated movie after Incredibles 2 and the second highest for a Spider-Man movie after No Way Home. That's about half of what the first movie did in its whole opening weekend, and some projections are potentially putting it at breaking $100 million for the weekend. Either way you slice it it's looking like a hell of a success.

2 hours into this movie, this is how I felt. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Anyway to be serious, I don't mind the cliffhanger, but 2 hours and 20 minutes and not much is resolved, Gwen and her dad story is resolved but that is it.
It wants to be Back To The Future II fine, but Back To The Future II despite the cliffhanger did resolve a lot of stuff. The equal to this movie is if Back to the Future ended when Marty got knocked out by Biff's henchmen moments after he found out his mom married Biff.

That was fantastic. Have to see it again to see if I would put it over the first one or No Way Home. {Spoiler}Spider-Man 2099 is an all time villain. I think the only villain I'd put above him in the Spidey movies is Dafoe's Goblin. Oscar Isaac killed it.

I think the only villain I'd put above him in the Spidey movies is Dafoe's Goblin. Oscar Isaac killed it. {Spoiler}Oscar Isaac definitely nailed Miguel’s unhinged, spiraling sanity masterfully. I wouldn’t say he is exactly a villain though, but absolutely an antagonist. He didn’t just flip from the goofy comedic version we got in the stinger in the first film into this form on a whim, after all. He’s misguided, confused, and traumatized, but also still trying to do the right thing. This has in turn led to him becoming dogmatic to the canon. The Spot is the villain(and an excellent one at that), but I feel Miguel will turn around by the end of the next film.

Personally {Spoiler}dunno if I can fully judge this movie on its own as it is not a complete story, but what we got is good so far. Just want to see if they can stick the landing.
