The card for Triplemania Regia was announced earlier tonight and as part of a triple main event, Kenny Omega will be defending his Mega Championship against Dragon Lee in an absolute dream match!
The card as a whole looks pretty solid, but this is the match that stands out to me.

Triplemania is usually a complete disaster, but I definitely want to see this match.

Triplemania is usually a complete disaster, but I definitely want to see this match. Actually Triplemania proper has already happened this year and was an exceptionally entertaining show, featuring a crazy mixed tag team match, a fast paced trios match featuring utterly insane high flying silky smooth lucha things, an entertaining Copa Triplemania (Plus a post match angle featuring LA Park which is always a plus), a fun women's TLC, the impressive in ring debut of Cain Velasquez (Who contrary what was represented in the Lesnar match, can actually go), the AAA debut of the Elite (Which was admittedly just a watered down Fyter Fest rematch, but still good.), and a memorable, wild and bloody brawl between Dr. Wagner Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. Honestly it was a show of the year contender.

The way it's being reported now, CMLL the company never held the copyright to the Rush and Dragon Lee names. Paco Alonso did. And when he died, they went to his daughter, Sofia Alonso. The same one who's been ousted from running CMLL by her family. So unless they get her back on board, there's jack they can do about them using their CMLL identities for the competition. LOLCMLL indeed!

Yeah, the story is that they tried to Ann Gunkel her, not realizing she still has some pretty strong bargaining chips. I hope the bad times continue to roll for CMLL until they do right by people.

It says something for a company when they have an even less realistic view of wrestling landscape than Vince McMahon and the WWE. Seriously, Vince McMahon may not get how wrestling itself works in 2019, but he still understands the business aspect well enough to not burn the place to the ground. For instance he at least acknowledges that while WWE is the top dog, AEW is still legitimate competition and a solid alternative to his own company which can afford to pay worker's a comparable wage. So, his logic is to sign people to big money deals and not be afraid to shell ut to keep his talent. Compare CMLL who spitefully fire two of their biggest stars and attempt to sabotage their careers after leaving, even though they are not the top dog, they are at best a dog of equivalent elevation. As a result they chased their biggest star into the arms of their competitors, who can now make the biggest match in all of Mexico, that they've had the chance to make for years but for some inexplicable reason didn't with the biggest draw in Mexico. It's amazing to me that this year CMLL is actually showing less competence than WWE and is neck and neck with ROH in that regard.

It's amazing to me that this year CMLL is actually showing less competence than WWE and is neck and neck with ROH in that regard. Vince's edge over his competition has always been his business savvy. He has definitely lost touch with what fans want or simply doesn't care, but he hasn't lost that or because of how well he set up WWE corporate office(and a lot of that was Linda) he has people working for them that will protect his business. Just look at WWE now, they are losing fans at an alarming rate but are producing more revenue than ever before. While AEW may be a concern for them, I can't imagine they are even close to making money yet and wrestling is an incredibly hard business to turn profit. I don't know what CMLL is thinking right now. Really their product has been dated for a long time, when I watch them it feels more like the circus, I suppose that would be the old roots of wrestling anyways. It's a live event for fans to see, but not really a weekly program with storylines and buildup like the wrestling we are used to. The interesting part is AAA wasn't much better a couple of years ago and did the same thing to Pentagon Jr., while having shows that made 2011 TNA look logically booked. I occasionally watch Lucha, but don't follow it closely, from the stories I hear it seems like wrestling in Mexico has just been a mess for a while. Between this and the AEW/New Japan issues, I am worried about the future of wrestling mostly in the US. As a whole, it's better than it's been in a long time with more options for the fans than ever. But I am concerned that my brother may have been correct, that with all of this larger promotions popping up in North America, instead of working together to make wrestling as whole better and at least putting a large dent in Vince's North American dominance over the product, they may cannibalize each other.
