I mean, that Rusev thing is a stupid f***ing clapback and I don't know how on earth you can justify it. It's not vicious at all and entirely aimed at the writing and Rusev still decided to be a dick declaring the guy's opinion has no meaning. But the guy's opinion doesn't have any meaning at the end of the day which was Rusev's point. You mean they should take this random guy's opinion over all of the fans in the audience who were cheering Rusev, booing Lana and booing Lashley since this angle kicked off? Even though when the ratings breakdowns came out and out of most of the stuff on Raw this Rusev angle actually gained viewers?
At the end of the day it's more than one guy's opinion that matters. People can dislike the angle but when WON broke the ratings down, this angle, for as much as people online say they hate it, is actually gaining viewers compared to other stuff and no, I'm not talking about Youtube views, I'm talking about what WON said.
It's another example of how one thing that people might dislike doesn't really translate to everyone else. Was that this weeks newsletter? Because I remember Alvarez talking about how when WWE made a huge deal out of Divorce Court and promoted it all show, the ratings for it were awful.

Rusev arguing with fans online is just a waste of his time. It's Jerry Springer levels of trash but a lot of fans enjoy it. In the past month and a half of this angle there's been multiple weeks where they broke down the segment in WON and it gained a lot of viewers so yeah, we might not like it but a good amount of the audience does. The only real good part about this angle is the fact that Rusev's getting really over again and they're portraying him as strong. One week he took down Orton and Corbin by himself. At the same time they also cut him off at the knees too many times. It's just weird.

It's sad that Meltzer's feud with WWE is more entertaining than any of WWE's on screen feuds right now.

He was already over, go back and watch the reactions he gets before Lana came out and this angle started, he was getting RUSEV DAY chants and being cheered. People have liked him and wanted to cheer him for years. And are they portraying him as strong? He's won I think one match since he came back and been laid out by Lashley a bunch of times. That isn't that strong to me. This is another example of a terrible angle or gimmick that makes the talent have to get over in spite of their booking instead of because of it. See "Shorty G" for another example.

I mean... Yeah. Yes, I expect him to shut up and live with it. If you can't handle one person saying they don't like a story you're an actor in then your ass shouldn't be acting. That's where we disagree.
I don't think any worker, artist, musician, actor, athlete, whatever, I don't think they all need to "shut up and dribble" when it comes to people's opinion towards what they do. This goes across the board in any profession and just because they're wrestlers doesn't mean they're excluded by any means. Fans just can't say what they want and the wrestlers just take it no matter what because it's their job. If fans can say what they want then it's the same for the wrestlers. That's that type of entitled fan/customer mentality that nobody who works in anything respect.
Exactly, there's so much damn entitlement from wrestling fans; they treat wrestlers and talk to wrestlers like shit and then have the f***ing audacity to act like they're the victims when the wrestlers tell them to piss off. Wrestling fans deserve every bit of shit that wrestlers give them considering all the shit that wrestlers put up with.

Gotta see this fom Rusev's perspective, he's being used in a storyline working with his wife and the company is actually featuring it. He's not having to fight and scrape for attention. He's not having to sit on the sidelines. He's not having to argue with management and convince them what he's doing is working.
If he's good with his and his wife's characters and the story they're doing, hey cool for him. He might look at fans trying to convince WWE to drop the story as them trying to take away his position on the show right now. If he lost this angle then what? They're not just gonna give him a TNA style Joe run for funsies.

It's another example of how one thing that people might dislike doesn't really translate to everyone else. The fan didn't say anything disparaging about Rusev, Lana, or Lashley, and literally just said he would be grateful if the cuck angle stopped. Never did he present his opinion as superior to anyone else's. There's no justifation for the attack, and this is coming from someone who loves Rusev.

That isn't that strong to me. This is another example of a terrible angle or gimmick that makes the talent have to get over in spite of their booking instead of because of it. See "Shorty G" for another example. I didn't say that he "needed" any of this, I said that he's getting really over again and that's what's happening given the crowd's chanting for him more than they were prior to this angle. Yeah he could have gotten over other ways but I'm not going to denounce the fact that he's getting bigger cheers than he was weeks prior to him unleashing himself through this angle. As for him being strong, since he's returned he's had 5 matches and he's won 4 of them, the 5th was a no contest which is the Rollins Universal Title match. Since Lana's been back Rusev's had 2 matches. Lashley laying him out has only been due to shenanigans such as Rusev being low blowed. As a whole Rusev hasn't really lost "clean" or really been embarrassed from a wrestling standpoint like a lot of fans think. The problem is they think that since in the angle he looks weak (as in he's being played by Lana and Lashley) they think that's reflective towards how he's booked in the ring when that's not true, his w/l record shows that. He's booked strong there as soon when he took out Orton and Corbin at the same time and by the fact the only time he can be taken down is by lowblows.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how terrible the angle and gimmick are because if a wrestler gets over during that bad thing then that's a positive for the wrestler. We can say "well they don't need this" or "well he could have done it without" all we want but that would only be putting more emphasis on what WWE's done (the angle) rather than the fact that Rusev is actually being cheered more, he's being featured more and the company's wanting to do more with his character which is the most important part.
That's where we disagree.

Wrestling fans deserve every bit of shit that wrestlers give them considering all the shit that wrestlers put up with. Depends. I think fans can get the "hey, I don't care what you think" comments, that's fine and it's nothing. Any major insults like "I hope you get hurt" or "f*** your family tree" or "man you're a piece of shit you're the worst everybody attack this person" then that's too far. The earlier stuff isn't anything to take seriously given fans go far harder at wrestlers than they do them. When you've got people say "ugh I hope you are miserable Rusev" and shit like that towards him and everything else they've said about the guy, him saying this is maaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddddddd light. Like, this ain't anything. Then again maybe I'm different. If someone says "I don't care what you think" I don't take that personally, shit I've heard that on this forum and I didn't think anything of it. Maybe others take that to heart. I sure don't because there's far worse things that can be said.

My whole argument is he isn't being cheered more though. If they'd had Rusev come back as a babyface without this stupid angle he'd be getting just as loud a reaction. This angle isn't helping him get more over, that's my whole point. And I think having his wife come out and make out with another man and talk about all the sex she's having with this other guy is embarrassing hugely to Rusev. He's not losing matches yet, but that will come because they never fully get behind Rusev anyway. We're going to have to agree to disagree because it looks like we have wildly different views on this whole thing.

Go back and watch his reactions when he comes out to save Rollins, and then after when he faces Rollins. I think you're wildly exaggerating how over this angle is but again agree to disagree.

Even in the roles where he died in (i.e most of them) Sean Bean is still a great actor, I've not seen any of GoT, but I know he was f***ing amazing in Sharpe, so I imagine he's good in GoT, too. Is GoT his first ever role in American TV or has he done others? He had a part in NBC's Robinson Crusoe miniseries just before GoT. He's done a couple of U.S. shows since, but he prefers to stick to British-based productions these days.

The term “burying” is thrown around too loosely these days.
Losing to a top guy like Styles in a back and forth 15 minute match isn’t a burial.
