I mean.....it could be good. Yes, they are trying too hard, but there are worse options. I'm not interested enough to sign up for their damned service to find out if it is any good, however.

um...anyone else think they're trying too f***ing hard? That pretty much sums up 99% of Harley Quinn's existence post-TAS. ...Yes. Hell, that sums up the majority of DC's output since at least 2004 or so.

I mean.....it could be good. Yes, they are trying too hard, but there are worse options. I'm not interested enough to sign up for their damned service to find out if it is any good, however. If "f*** Batman" wasn't enough to get me to spend money on such a limited service, I doubt I'll spend it to see an animated show featuring characters say four letter words like it's going out of style. um...anyone else think they're trying too f***ing hard? Oh they very much are. After BoJack Horseman came around and showed me that you can absolutely write an adult-oriented cartoon show without carpet bombing it with f-bombs(they only have one per season and each one has important storytelling significance), any show that relies on it just looks lesser to me. I think the modern day barometer for "what defines an adult cartoon" (at least in America) should be set between "Bojack Horseman" and "The Nutshack", where they both feature adult content and situations, but the former focuses on it being just a part of daily life and how people are just different with nuances, while the latter hammers home gay, dick, and poop jokes like the audience has ADHD or something. And the more a cartoon decides that what it needs to stand out is "more cussing", the closer it gets to "The Nutshack". This isn't to say "Bojack" is clean because it's not; I mean, it's about a disgraced TV star who is constantly falling off the wagon and making life miserable for everyone around him. But, any adult cartoon that feels like excessive swearing and gratuitous violence for the hell of it simply because "We got a TV-14 or even TV-MA rating" doesn't work for me. Another thing that bugs me about DC Comics is that, besides the fact that Batman is the Superior Being of the Universe, I don't think Harley was meant to be sympathetic aside from the fact she was originally a therapist wooed by the Joker, but because she's "cute" in that lovable psycho way (who am I to talk as I got a Nena Trinity banner & figurine in my bedroom?), it made her endearing, but rather than, for example, explore beyond the "woman duped into crime" aspect, I just feel like modern day DC wants to focus only on the "Hey, she cray-cray! Ain't that hot?" concept of her in various forms of media instead of, like, her having a split personality disorder where she has monologues with Harleen Quintzel (like in Arkham Knight) that emphasize on a morality tale with the character. Harley represents her wild, unbound inhibitions, while Harleen represents her firm, humanized form. I know they might be afraid of making light of those with the disability, but at the same time, it would be more creative and interesting than just her being nuts and the story being just how over-the-top she can get on her own.

None of the other shows have even sniffed anything else or been on TV which is kind of crazy to think about.

I like how Bane has the Rises voice. The rest of it feels like it's trying way too hard. The story etc seems fine; just feels like they decided to just say f*** a lot as some sort of attempt at edge. Just feels inauthentic.

The only reason why I'm not willing to give it a shot is because I don't want to pay for fifty billion streaming services.

Meh, Honestly, I think if it toned down on the zaniness a bit I'd be on board. I don't hate post-BTAS Harley as much as everyone else, and any time I can see her knock that abusive douche Joker out makes me happy. Hell, this could almost be a Secret Six show with Dr Psycho, King Shark, and Bane involved. Seems like they're trying WAY too hard to be that over the top swearing cartoon and appeal to Family Guy/American Dad type of viewers.

Why do I get the feeling this was something Margot Robbie pitched? She was approached to voice Harley, but turned them down. Too busy with her own garbage version of the character, I suppose.

This looks awful.
Titans ended up being great after a terrible trailer. I doubt that will happen here
