This happening so soon after ACH (before shooting himself in the foot) tried to start discussion about racism in wrestling is kinda wild btw. He didn’t go about it in the best way, but he was 100% right pointing out how backwards not just WWE but the whole industry’s been on this stuff. |

After listening to Billy Corgan on Busted Open this morning, he’s already so carny you’d think he’d been in the biz for decades. Cornette probably is the most influential person in their entire organization. Corgan & Lagana would no sooner edit him than they would Vince himself. Is it by accident Lagana referred to him as “talent” rather than by his name? The only good that can come from this is if fans make sure to let them know that this won’t be accepted. Their show has actually been really good. I for one would hate to stop watching, but I will if they don’t fix the problem. Billy is under the learning tree of Vince Russo. "Oh, it's Ethiopia, so they have to be starving. Therefore, he must be tough!" "Don't you get it? They love fried chicken. It's a popular food in the South." "I'm certain he would have to drive it through Ethiopia, given how many hungry people would be chasing him. After all, he would be carrying a bucket of fried chicken, and you know they would be starving." And, stuff like that makes me want to blow my brains out. You know the other reason it's racist as hell? Because this is Ethiopia. Does the place have problems? Sure. But this poverty porn we've been sold is a gross generalization of a really complex, interesting country with a whole heap of other stuff going on. Oh, when I say "poverty" about Africa, I'm talking about Somalia and the Central African Republic, and take your pick of which side of Sudan you're on; they're both poor. I know people say TNA was the most cursed promotion in History but given the lineage and how far it's fallen, NWA is without a doubt the most snakebit company in the history of wrestling. It keeps trying to stick around and even reinvigorate itself with new owners and even new shows like Powerrr and just when it looks like things might finally turn around just a little, something like this happens, and it just falls the hell apart.
What should amount to being one of the most must-booked promotions, having one of the most prestigious belts in all of wrestling, devolves into this carny ass bullshit, where all they had to do was change one thing, had months to do so, and had to wait for it to actually happen for it to be a disaster. Cornette's an idiot but NWA are idiots too, finally getting some good will only to tank it for this horseshit.

Okay, so my jaw dropped when I heard the line in that Powerrr clip.
Then I saw Arik Cannon's video, and I wanted to bang my head a against a wall.
If Cornette loves the "old school" mentality so much, they should lock him in a room with some of the boys in the back and let them "sort things out".
