Does anyone honestly believe they combed through the whole show? I think they did minimal edits and didnt listen to the commentary because Cornette has been saying a lot of dumb **** before that. Austin Idol I dont mind because its tongue and cheek and hes in character. Cornette was just being himself an ***hole you kind've have to if you want to call what you are doing editing. for one dumping all the footage into the computer only happens in real time. secondly you need to make sure the audio didn't f*** up anywhere... It's honestly weird to act like this is some low-scale production just because it's on Youtube. For one, I'm friends with a lot of Youtubers, and the ones who make it their full time living can be real damn serious about what they do and making sure it comes out as a quality product. As solo creators doing their own junk, there's a pride taken in their editing and in making sure it comes out well that gets sold short when people write off the whole platform. And then conversely I even know someone whose job is to edit the videos of some 'large enough to pay someone to do it' Youtubers, and again, that's something they take seriously. In the case of the NWA, we're talking about what is certainly a degraded brand that's not even a shadow of its former glory, but it's still a serious business venture with huge money involved that Corgan wants to put onto television, and with Powerrr's tapings serving as a pilot. You don't seriously try to build a company and a brand on something you don't edit seriously, and there's no professional editor worth a crap who would take the approach of just shitting things out onto the timeline and then not watching the edit back to make sure it worked out. Not even to catch stuff like Cornette did; in general, if you half-ass the editing, you put out something that sucks and isn't going to get anywhere or impress anyone.

Didn't both Cornette himself and Meltzer say Lagana knew of the comment before air and approved it?

You don't necessarily have to dump in real time anymore depending on what media the cameras use. You can do drag and drop straight onto your computer. And if they record using single system then they don't even need to check the audio. You shouldn't do that but you can. (Also, before you go to edit this kinda thing you should really get someone to transcribe the audio so it makes it easier to edit and they can check for peaks, noise, gonks, squeals, etc. at the same time). That said, I have no idea if Lagana is aware of how to properly edit live-to-edit sports and he could just be dumping and cutting.

Kenny Omega on Jim Cornette Controversy
On the comments that caused Cornette to resign: “It’s sad, I never want to wish ill upon someone. I do believe that that’s sort of a generational thing in the case of Jim. It was, he dug down deep and pulled out one of the age-old lines that he’s used time and time and time again, whether it be from the ’70s or ’80s, or whatever it was, when it first made its debut. And I think without thinking, you know, he was saying something that just isn’t acceptable in today’s world. And you know, it speaks volumes, it really does, to his way of thinking, his line of thinking. Even you know, how kind of carnie he is in the way he conducts his business. It’s just not accepted anymore. It’s too negative, it’s too toxic.”
On Cornette’s attacks on him and others: “And you know, Jim at his best is a great mind for the business. He’s great at commentary, he’s great in a managerial position, whatever it may be. But we’ve seen him at his worst, and more times than not. And I have been the punchline to many of his jokes, and I’ve been the focus to a lot of his rants where he’s just trying to get attention to keep himself as a topic of discussion. And that’s fine, I get it, but that’s just so carnie and that’s not me. And that’s not what I love about wrestling. I hate that carnie type of stuff, it’s terrible. I don’t think there’s any place for it anymore. I’m much like how you [Meltzer] are where, it’s just that you’re good. That should be what propels you to the top. The cream should always rise to the top, it shouldn’t be, you know, ‘Stab this guy in the back,’ or that type of stuff, which got people in the position of power the way that it used to be in the olden days.
“But Jim is so much just a believer in that. And to this day, that’s how he survived. And that’s how he still has a position and a place in wrestling. So that’s why he has no choice but to really lean on that. And like you said, he doubles down and he doubles down, and he doubles down. And now that it’s too late to go back and turn back the clock, he’s out of a job. And people are seeing him for what he really is. And it’s a shame, again, that someone who has a lot of talent now is out of a job. But again, I can’t be supportive of the way that he conducts himself anyway.:”
On being attacked by Cornette’s fans online: “People always tell me via my timeline, ‘Hey @kennyomegamanx, Jim Cornette said this,’ Or he has his followers, and they’ll tag me in something he said to kind of suck up to Jim. ‘Hey look Jim, look what I did. I’m so tough, I tagged Kenny Omega in something.’ Stuff like that that pollutes my timeline and whatever, it rolls off my back because I just care so little. I have so much more things to worry about. And luckily, fielding these types of comments on social media isn’t one of them. And I’ve developed a skill just to not care. So those guys have to try harder or now they’re going to have to find a new hero, unfortunately.”

That's all completely reasonable so I expect Cornette to lose his mind over it.

That was a really polite response whilst still not holding back.

The fact that this is nearly 60 pages utterly baffles me because, like, most threads about Cornette barely reach 10 pages and now we're getting 60 pages without it being locked? Not gonna lie, I didn't expect it to get half as many pages as it has.

Man, Cornette is gonna lose his mind lol My favorite part is how courteous Omega was in saying, "I know there's people out there who tag me in the hopes Cornette sucks their dick that night, but honestly, they need to try harder at getting laid". And I am not sorry for saying that.

Kenny Omega on Jim Cornette Controversy.... Good on Omega for staying classy by taking the high road. He could have denigrated Corny in a similar fashion to how Corny regularly denigrates him, and his friends (including the disgusting charge made against him and Riho), yet he didn't.

Oh I'm sure if we went off the record, Omega could go for days railing on the guy for making his profession a pain in the ass, but Omega's got not only himself, but a fledgling company to think about. ...I mean, Cornette kinda did too with being a representative for a rebuilding NWA, but obviously he didn't care nearly as much as he should about damage control...

That's all completely reasonable so I expect Cornette to lose his mind over it. No doubt, but I'm hoping against hope Corny can somehow restrain himself as unlikely as that is...

Kenny’s been pretty cordial and tactful when talking about Jim before. Glad he’s still good about it.

That was the most polite "I don't care, you old prick" I've ever heard.
Kenny somehow managed to own Cornette but still being professional.

Kenny’s been pretty cordial and tactful when talking about Jim before. Glad he’s still good about it. Cornette has flat-out accused Omega of sleeping with the talent he's bringing in, and this is how he responds. If anything, I think this kind of response compared to a temper tantrum would do gets under his skin even more.

People like to throw the "Cornette is AEW's biggest heel" claims around and act like he's totally getting to them and ruining everything. But aside from Janela taking some cheap shots, the most Cornette seems to get is raw dismissal from those who matter. The man can throw tons of incendiary shit around about them, their friends, how they deserve to die or be broke or beaten or whatever. And as long as this is what they're putting back out publicly, they're winning. Some goblin screeching at them isn't hurting their ability to make money, and they're not letting him ugly them up any.

That has got to make Cornette salty
I'm sure he rather you curse him out and get into his act. Kenny with the polite "f*** you old man" and not give Corny any extra ammunition to throw out
