I will never, ever understand what the point of eSports is. Or how on earth it qualifies as a sport. People who have way too much time play one game far too often somehow have managed to make money out of it because people with too much time are willing to watch people play one game far too often. That Jumanji game looks butt fugly! The Jumanji game looks like what a licensed tie-in movie game would look like.

I hope this shuts up all the, "Smash Bros. isn't a fighting game!" people.
It won't.

I don't know what this random goth woman.... I guess singing, I have it muted... has to do with anything but I haven't seen this pretentious in regards to a video game advertisement since that godawful Last of Us 2 trailer that pretty much convinced me to never play the first one.

Played TLOU when Plus gave it out. It was good story and atmosphere wise, directing was aces and the acting was top notch. Gameplay though it was just average. Not bad, just one of those games where you just wanna get through a section to see what happens in the story next.

Overall this was a weak year in gaming. It's been the weakest year we've had since that year that Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor was arguably the best game of the year.
Which was 2014.

I think it depends on your preferred or typical platform. I'm largely a Nintendo guy, so this year (especially with Indy titles) was much better than last year, barring Smash Ultimate.

Best Narrative, as well as Best RPG, goes to Disco Elysium.

I think Three Houses is the only release this year I've cared about for more than, like, a week. I guess kind of MK11, but that's more a kind of loathing for it that this otherwise very fun fighting game wants to obsessively control people's entire lives with excruciating grinding and bullshit timed events.

DE is the one game this year I always hear about but haven't seen a video for it.

Yeah me I like indy games but I gotta hear about them a lot before I buy them. Nothing against them, they just always miss my radar. I'm still playing FE and it's still great. MK11 I actually forgot came out this year.
