So I just saw a clip on the network. Jimmy Garvin comes out in an unaired segment with mean gene hyping the survivor series. He plays some heel antics and just comments on upcoming matches. What was this supposed to be? Was he trying out for a wrestler? Commentator? He did look out of touch and outdated with that poofy hairdo and stache. Even michael hayes changed his look to be dok Hendrix.
I did notice his "Are you ready....for the Survivor Series???" line was used in a song on The wrestlemania album they put out in 93. Interesting that they used his soundbite but didn't hire him.

Honestly, I thought he was a pilot by that time.

I coulda sworn we just did this topic, though it may be inside an unrelated thread. Anyway, Garvin came in for the one show as a try-out and didn't really care for what McMahon was selling, so he didn't hang around.

This isn’t the thread he meant. Someone just posted the clip recently.

I wonder if he was still bitter about his WCW run going the way it did. In any case, becoming a pilot was probably better for his longterm health, one would figure.

Jimmy Garvin's WWF tryout was that Survivor Series '91 audio sample, and that quote has lasted in the minds of kids my age for almost 30 years.
He didn't meed the tryout to turn into a full career there, he made an impact forever.
