What are your thoughts on some heel or face turns that you thought would be good and had potential of being great but for one reason or another it failed A turn that no one really thought was coming. He had the look and the raven type gimmick to make it work but his own personal problems got in the way and killed that dead.

Many of us were anticipating when heel Ambrose would be unleashed on WWE, thinking he would be a crazy loose cannon that would draw nuclear heat. They even had the craziest of timing with the turn due to Roman's cancer diagnosis. Instead, the run was so bad it drove him to leave the company, and even before that happened, they dropped it and reunited The Shield again, in spite of the way Dean turned on his brothers at their lowest point.

An evil ass kicking no f***s given Ken Shamrock could have been so much more than the corporate stooge that he became.

del rio's delusional heel sprint (cause it only lasted a couple of weeks so can't really call it a "run") who thought the fans were actually supporting him

The current Miz face run. Surprise, surprise, Bray/Fiend may be giving that one a shot in the arm.

He turned into the Randy Orton we all know and...have divided opinions about, but the sarcastic RNN Orton was funny. I could see how it would be seen as recycled Kurt Angle, though.

Alberto del Rio's face run in 2013. This right here. The first few weeks of his face run were done to perfection and he was hella over. Then they gave up on him after the lazy Swagger feud and did the Double turn with Dolph

Big Show's 11th heel turn had potential to be one of his best...
while it's probably not classified as failed, Shawn Michaels heel turn in 2005 I thought had more legs instead of just turning for the Hogan feud

This may sound strange, but Yokozuna. Guy had charisma, and when he was in shape, he was awesome in the ring. Unfortunately, he ate himself out of wrestling, and then passed away, but seeing the way Rikishi got over, man, I wonder.

That could have been a heel turn for the ages if it had stuck.

An evil ass kicking no f***s given Ken Shamrock could have been so much more than the corporate stooge that he became. Kind of felt that way for a lot of talented wrestlers in the Monday Night War era, whether they became henchmen for the Corporation, cannon fodder in the nWo, etc. It made sense that sometimes you need some of your wrestlers to make sure that your biggest stars are getting over, e.g. letting them eat stunners or spears or whatever, but it can lead to really good performers turning heel and just acting as a warm body to get wrecked by the hero, and that kind of sucks. Had this thought randomly: how about Yokozuna's face turn? He was near the end when it happened, but a Yoko who was closer to his starting weight in WWF and could still move pretty well might've made that work, particularly if he and Vader really got to go all out against one another.

Ahmed Johnson joining the Nation of Domination. Faarooq repeatedly questioning why the WWF had never to that point had a black World Champion, eventually getting inside his head. Meanwhile, his own career has stalled, so he finally snapped and blamed his shortcomings on racism.
His face turn back though, no defending that.

Seriously this was the heel run people were waiting to happen for ages... and I can even understand trying to swerve teh direction somewhere else... but they didn't go anywhere else with it. They just turned him into another "you people" style heel as that appears to be the only type of heel character they can write anymore. del rio's delusional heel sprint (cause it only lasted a couple of weeks so can't really call it a "run") who thought the fans were actually supporting him This was amazing... and of course it was dropped after like two weeks. Champion of the people Del Rio was entertaining as hell. but you know it's better to turn him back into the destiny and perro spouting heel that nobody cared about instead...

Becky last year was supposed to be a heel turn, but it was a success in a completely different way.
