So I constantly bitch about how WWE never does TV in Winnipeg, haven’t since 2004 and how my local city Brandon never gets house shows any more, last one was 2003. Last week they announced both a Brandon house show and a Winnipeg Raw, and I scored tickets to both!!!! I am so f***ing jacked up for this!! I’ve been a fan of AJ Styles since NWA Wildside on my questionably legal satellite, and I finally get to see him live!!! Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, Becky, Charlotte, Kabuki Warriors, Andrade, Anderson and Gallows, so many wrestlers I’m so excited to see!!
Going with my friend and his family, and it is gonna be so much fun!! I haven’t been to WWE in years so this is a really big f***ing deal for me!!!
Thanks for putting up with my childish glee

Should be a good time. No matter what the booking is like at the time, I’ve almost always had fun at live WWE shows.

Nice. Live Raws are always more fun in person (even the not-so-good episodes) so you should have fun!

Another Winnipegger/Manitoban on the board! I'm pumped this will be my first live Raw ever. Been to a few of the Raw house shows and local indy shows (especially when Omega is advertised) but this will be my first time at a taping. Going with a bunch of friends who haven't watched in a bit and I'm trying to explain differences between live vs house show. Can anyone sort of list the differences they noticed? I've heard there are the weird blackouts with a wrestler standing in the ring while a promo or commercial plays. Any others we should be aware of?

I've heard there are the weird blackouts with a wrestler standing in the ring while a promo or commercial plays. Any others we should be aware of? Yup, Manitoba born and raised. These will be my first WWE shows since the Raw and SD shows at the Winnipeg Arena in 2004. Actually with the same dude who I’m going to these shows. From what I remember back then is the commercial breaks suck, but they didn’t really go to commercial during matches back then it was just down time. Also, I remember them doing this horribly long Diva Search video that was just awful. If Winnipeg wasn’t such a hot wrestling market that video would’ve killed the crowd dead. My friend has a 10, 6 and 4 year old who are coming for both shows and I’m so pumped for it. Live wrestling is so much more fun with kids. When I was at the SD taping in 2004, I was aisle side and there was a roughly 10 year old kid beside me and I chatted up him and his dad. It was a blast, I let the kid take my spot for a while so he could try and high five the wrestlers and stuff. So much fun. Also, awesome you support local indy’s. I’ve never gotten to see Kenny, but I’d love to make it into a PCW show sometime. I go to CWE whenever I can, they run rural MB pretty regularly and my buddy is friends with Danny Duggan the promoter. Sounds like Shane Douglas is the big name for the next tour, we just had Juvi through 2 weeks ago. Fun shows. That’s where I met Jimmy Jacobs, who is such an awesome dude.

Every commercial break and backstage promo, the lights go out and the wrestlers just stare at the screen usually, doing nothing, while their music plays. Everytime the commentators are talking at the camera, nothing's happening in the ring. Loads and loads and loads of commercials on the big screen.
