Well, i'm at work and trying to kill this last hour of time and this popped across my head so let's discuss it. @kn get in here boi lol
That war still pisses me off. Too much potential wasted imo between the Manga and Anime. The Anime made it too damn long thanks to filler but even in the manga the big f***ing twist of Kaguya still makes no sense. The whole thing was built up to the return of Madara and Obito playing a role was a nice surprise in how they explained that part of it. Ten Tails f***ing shit up was nice because just like Madara you had years of his name being used as a way of saying when they come, shit gets real
There was some nice moments on the field. Neji getting killed is still whack and killing off Shikamaru and Ino parents still felt underwhelming. As I said with Kaguya I just couldn't get into that twist when she was literally introduced in this last arc. Her being the big bad along with Black Zetsu felt hollow. Madara imo was a sufficient enough villain to end the story on especially with Sasuka trying to finish off his clan of hatred curse
The stuff I did like tho, Naruto and Sasuke getting God powers is great. Madara was OP as f***. Ten Tails did damage and felt like a natural disaster threat. Guy taking to Madara to the point of almost killing himself showed really how great Guy is
What were your thoughts on that final arc?

A tumor that destroyed what the series was suppose to be about and paved way for characters like Bakugo to be created.
I wonder if before he died Neji realized that he had been right all along.

I've got a lot to say about this arc so I'm typing it all up right now. This arc was just, like. This arc was blowing a 3-1 lead lol. There's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many things wrong with this entire arc. I can't wait to post my full opinion lol.

Bakugo fits in MHA tho. With the way his character has progressed over time, at least he didn't legit kill anyone like Sasuke did If anything this messed up Boruto hard. While it is nice to have a sequel so to say, the journey isn't as epic imo. I watched the movie but I have not watched anything of the series

The only people I know who actually liked it were Hinata fans.
Never mind everything was butchered and turned into a nonsensical mush that insulted the characters and fanbase but hey, their Waifu got her happy ending

Then again i'm also the person that feels like Naurto and Sasuke should have both died at the end Felt that was the best use of her character and the moment she finally stepped up to say she loved Naurto is the moment he realized he had been a fool in not noticing. They retconned in something like he has always been shy around her

Shonen war arcs never work, too many characters, too many threads. You'll never stick that landing.
Tournament arcs are better because you can do a lot more character stuff in one vs one fights.

Bleach f***ed up there war arc too Story should have ended after Aizen was defeated and Ichigo lost his powers. Bleach and Naruto arcs happened within a span of like 2 years of each other and each arc lasted a long damn time

*cracks knuckles* This arc by far has to be one of the biggest missed opportunities in manga history. This is the arc that really turned the series around and sure, overall it's a great series with some missteps but it could have been soooooooooo much better with a grand final arc. I mean sure, the Kage Summit wasn't great (with Sakura's whole thing, Sasuke even asking Naruto why he's still following him and Naruto hyperventilating) but this arc took things to a completely new level. Where can we start? First of all we need to get the obvious one out of the way: all of the potential battles we missed out on. Lee couldn't get another major fight? Neji couldn't have rightfully got another one before you know what happened? You mean to tell me that we get ANOTHER Ino-Shika-Cho fight when we can't even let our boy Shino shine a bit? Man Kishimoto really let it be known that he loves that group because the others didn't do much that arc. We could have seen Sasuke facing off against people before he made his decision. We could have seen Lee facing a legendary Taijutsu master to give him a true win since he really didn't have one sans that first Sasuke fight. Like, there was so much missed potential it's crazy. A normal mangaka would use this time to flesh characters out and give them what they needed but Kishi? Nah bruh. It's not just for the fighting itself but fights allow character growth. By the end of this arc there were so many characters who still feel like they're the same as they were immediately after the timeskip. Naruto grew, Sasuke grew (we'll get back to this), Sakura grew (we'll get back to this), Kakashi grew, Gaara grew, like the important characters grew but no side character really other than Gai. Man, it sucked. Secondly the power scaling. Naruto went from the guy who barely beat Pain to the guy who gave Raikage the Hezzy to the guy who formed a bond with Kyuubi and then combined his powers and we're not even mentioning when he and Sasuke gained powers from THE JESUS CHRIST of the series. He gained a lot of power ups but each of those forms didn't get their own section of the story so we could live with it. We should have seen at least a few fights for each of those forms but nope, didn't happen and for that a lot of his growth seems wack. Sasuke isn't much better if better at all. His strength made even less sense than Naruto's because with Naruto we saw him training and getting in fights to show what he can do. Sasuke just did it. Dude randomly had his Susanoo suddenly standing side by side with Kyuubi after no indication appeared that he can do that. Sakura's whole thing is another example of bad power scaling. You mean she can suddenly do all of that after whining for Naruto since KN4 slapped her to the ground? Aight. AIGHT.
The plot didn't even make any sense. I get that the whole point of the war was to get Naruto and Bee's Bijuu but you mean to tell me that it went that way? They were fighting harder to protect Naruto when he was away from the field than they were when he actually made it. The guy who can be your savior or your ender is doing more to save you than you are to save him. Bruh what? They should have done whatever it took to keep Naruto away and not fall for Naruto's old "hey guys I'm the MC I can do this" thing. Tobi's backstory didn't make any sense either. I'm all for loving someone but bruh you mean you did all of that for love?
Who's the main character? With all he survived and did I thought it was Obito for a bit. "HE WAS THE COOLEST GUY!!" was something Naruto said about this man who ultimately lead to his parents sliding under a tombstone.
And we don't even have to talk about the deeper darker criminal link known as Murda Inc aka Sasuke's decisions. This boy flipped his opinion so many times in that arc to the point where even after talking to the Hokages he STILL had it wrong. After talking to Itachi, after talking to the Hokages, after teaming with Team 7, after finding out the true story and getting god powers from THE GOD of the series himself, the guy still had it wrong like bruh I don't know what else needed to be said to this man to make him understand. The only thing he understood was the fight which is why Naruto had to lay into him.
Kaguya herself was a major plot point. I knew from the jump that the moment Madara mentioned her she'd be reappear. I just didn't know it would happen like that. Naruto smacked Madara down a bit, Sasuke did too but that man deserved more than that. He was never going to be the final villain because he was a Sasuke benchmark, at most Sasuke would have beaten him so the fact Kaguya showing up and putting the breaks to him sure it made me crack up but that's so bad given the guy didn't even get his ass rightfully beaten like he needed to. Major enemies need to get beaten down and then and only then can they get humiliated like that. That's booking 101. Naruto and Sasuke were still holding back that entire Madara fight. Kaguya, we can't even begin with her because for as great as she is she let Sakura get one off her and Obito LET HIMSELF die from her attack. She was just held back by her emotions at the end of the day. In theory she should have wasted all TREE OF EM' (Birdman voice). I ain't mention Kakashi because dude was OP when he somehow got Obito's eyes.
Then you've got the whole stuff with The Gold and Silver Brothers ohhhhhhh these mysterious out of nowhere guys who suddenly ate the inside of Kyuubi oh nooooooo, just crap like that was nasty.
I'm missing a lot but lemme say the worst thing about the War Arc which impacts everything I mentioned...
It's length. The War Arc itself was around 185 chapters long. That's too short for everything they needed to do. It should have at least been the entire length of the first part of the series. They could have laid this war out in such a way that everything would be filled, there'd be no missed spots and in turn we'd have a more cohesive product but they didn't do that. Everything was jumbled together and it was just rush rush rush rush.
I know Kishi wanted it to the end at chapter 700 (which it did which makes sense given Naruto is the 7th) but nah, puns aren't that great when the series suffers. At the end of the day there were just too many Ls.
They just dropped the ball with it.
I'm not even surprised because Kishi's brother's manga 666Satan dropped the ball on it's final arc too.

Bruhhh, let me break this down because sheeesssshhh lol. First off i'm glad you mentioned the Kage summit and Naruto hyperventilating because I thought that was some hoe shit. That is not your man Naruto, why the f*** you go into shock for that boy because they rightfully said he getting bodied in sight thanks to attacking the Kages. Battles I agree were underwhelming as far as not showing what everyone could do. We knew Asuma would fight his former group but they had gotten their shine already against Hidan. Rock Lee, Kiba, Neji, dammit even Hinata should have gotten a fight. Clear difference in part 1 where they got screen time to show what they can do The Obito story I had no real problem with EXCEPT the fact he was able to stand one on one with the f***ing Hokage as a teenager. That makes no damn sense whatsoever. Too many times they leaned on the story of what if Naruto went evil and Obito was supposed to be the ultimate example of that and it sort of worked until it f***ing didn't. Talk No Jutsu was not supposed to work on Obito to the point he sacrificed his life. Just like Sasuke, when people start killing, you have to draw a line in wanting to forgive someone. Even f***ing Madara got forgiven by Hashirama before they faded off into the afterlife. Orochimaru got f***ing forgiven, what does it take for people to just be evil and have it stick Speaking of murder, Sasuke. That man was a lost cause. He talked to everyone and their mother and still wanted to kill Naruto at the end. They boy even talked nasty to Ninja Jesus. I get wanting him to be a Piccolo/Vegeta type hybrid but they did too much with him in trying to act like this was nothing more than a temper tantrum. He eventually learned the truth from Itachi and the Kages themselves and it still wasn't enough. If he wasn't going to be the final villain, they f***ed up that journey And this is going to be a morbid thing to say but not enough main named characters died. The war itself didn't really have any consequences. Guy should been allowed to die a Warriors death. Him vs Madara was a great fight and showed how nasty Guy is but Naruto coming in to be literal GOD sort of ruined that. If you are going to kill off Neji to further Hinata, you should have went a little further

If you are going to kill off Neji to further Hinata, you should have went a little further Naruto had no right acting like that. It's like Sasuke could do whatever and Naruto would defend him. Naruto even told the rest of the group that he'll handle Sasuke which I'm sure they were relieved about in the end but that guy's been causing him trouble. RELAX lol.
I was real upset that Team 8 and Team Gai didn't get enough shine in the war. Just put a bow on it and let them shine a bit. They received a small amount of development but not enough for what they needed to get. It was sad. Just sad.
I'm a fan of Obito so I've mostly got no major issues with him, I just thought his strength and resilience needed to be touched upon more. We needed to see more examples of how he became that strong to fight the Hokage and to take all he took. Had we got that it would have made more sense but we didn't. His morals aren't the issue, we just needed to see more of how he went from that clumsy Chuunin as a teen to what he ended up being. Minato should have clobbered dude easily and yeah TnJ wasn't supposed to work on the guy but it did like it worked on everyone. It felt like he should have struggled more with it given who he was but you know how it works lol.
Vegeta and Piccolo's characters made way more sense than Sasuke as they didn't flip as much as he did. I get he's a teen and all but the man believed everything people told him. There was never any time where dude said "nah that's not true I'm out", if he said "nah that's not true" he kept listening until he believed it. It would have made way more sense to turn Sasuke into a true villain after he took out Danzou and then let him stay that alignment until Naruto beat his ass. No "lemme team with them" crap or whatever else he did.
And I heavily agree. Neji dying was powerful but he should have went out fighting before he died. Gai got the ultimate praise from Madara and then Naruto saved him and at that point it's like well ok I guess that's it for any more deaths.
Onoki even lived past that arc. Like, give us something.

They did Team 8 bad. Nobody on that team mattered one bit, except Hinata. Team Guy, Holy F**. Put an alert out for Tenten because she might have been the most useless character of Konoha 11 Obito was supposed to be the epitome of a guy who said f*** the world and they couldn't even get that right. Like if you're going to turn him back good, at least have Rin spirit come back on the field or some shit. He was willing to destory the world because a girl he had a crush on got killed. Correct me if i'm wrong too, he understood why Kakashi killed her because she asked him to and he still got pissy over it. It's not like Obito was an idiot, he knew Madara would try to betray him and actually turned the tables on him in getting the Six Path powers first. It's like they wanted to make all the Uchiha complex but yet all of them fell on their face besides Itachi who actually died the way he wanted to and hoping his brother found peace The Sasuke stuff just didn't work. Yes, we all knew he would never let Orochimaru have his body and that worked out. But then he gets his own team who he abandons because they remind him too much of his old team. Once he stabbed Sakura in the chest and had this look on his face it should been over Tsunade should have probably been toast in that arc. She got cut in f***ing half and she barely survived the Pain massacre. Hell, I would have said kill off Kakashi if the story fit. You have to have the characters and the readers feel something. If Kakashi got killed by Madara like he got killed by Pain, you could have said that would have triggered a change in Obito but nope that wasn't the case

Shonen war arcs never work, too many characters, too many threads. You'll never stick that landing. Tournament arcs are better because you can do a lot more character stuff in one vs one fights. To quote you again in remembering a Shounen war arc, technically One Piece had it and did it damn good with the Marines vs the Pirates (and Yonko ready to step in) and the crazy fall out from that sequence

Naruto had no right acting like that.
Kiri kidnaps her and forces her to be the host for a Bijuu right? Due to her age she can't handle it as the plan is to take her back to Konoha and the beast will break free and destroy it. And yet from what we see, no one is forcing her or trying to make her go to Konoha she's just heading back there herself despite having the equal of a nuclear bomb inside of her. You'd think she'd stop what she was doing or head back or threaten to unleash it on them instead.
The people in Naruto make Abridged Goku look like a Scientist with how stupid they are. And don't forget Kyuubi becoming nothing more than a glorified Pokémon who just wanted friends.

Kiri kidnapped her and put the 3 tails inside of her. They put like a forbidden jutsu tag on her that will corrupt once she reached Konoha and the beast would be set loose and killing her as well. If I remember correctly, Kakashi was able to get her back but the kiri sent people after them to chase them back to the village. Somehow Rin knew this would result in destroying Konoha which led to her getting killed/committing suicide by Kakashi hand I have a soft spot for Kurama and Naruto finally getting along but they way they did it was hokey. Kurama still really wasn't f***ing with Naruto heavy by the time the war came but they made it seem like he was a lost puppy. Kurama slowly gaining respect for Naruto was the right way but Naruto being his "only friend" after years of him being treated by everyone sort of doesn't pass that test. They had to add on the caveat of the Sage saying one day someone will unite them which Kurama remembered and realized it was Naruto

They flesh some characters out. Tenten really did deserve better lol.
Yeah Obito didn't care how Rin died, just the fact that Kakashi did it is what really got him and yeah that's some messed up stuff. Granted you can be upset and all but eventually you gotta look over that and realize what's going on. Still he withstood a lot in the series even stuff he should have been prepared for like Madara's tricks.
There was really no reason for Tsunade to survive that arc but I guess they can't have another Kage die off. Her, Onoki, Gai, potentially Kakashi, you could have even killed some of the Kage bodyguards even like there were a lot who could have been down for the count and mind you that Kabuto and Oro survived too? Juugo? Man. It's like they saw Neji and said "well we gotta pick SOMEONE" and let him have it without understanding that his death now wouldn't mean much compared to if he died in part 1. The deaths were trash. Even Naruto and Sasuke blowing each other's arms off doesn't mean much with Hashirama's cells at play.
There wasn't much risk to the alliance.
