For a guy who was expected to be about as effective a partner as Koko B Ware, he looked really good last night and displayed a lot of athleticism you didn't think that he could pull off including a Sasuke Special.

Dude was nervous, didn’t quite get stuff right and almost knocked himself on the rope on that special but MAN, he was a compelling as hell guy in that tag match.
It’s a weird thing where you could tell he was putting in so much effort and giving his all and I appreciated it and the crowd sure as hell did.
Especially since at the start he basically got “Cody’s Partner” chants.

in a way though his awkwardness would make sense if you looked at it as "jobber guy who almost never gets any offense in finally gets a chance to do so but since it happens so rarely he is less than polished in the delivery of it"
the best parts were when he looked as surprised as anyone when he successfully hit something.

Yeah, the moment he hit the backflip into the ropes into the heel kick and he looked like he just came off of being possessed for a few seconds was great.

QT's not exactly a greenie in the ring, so I wasn't quite feeling the story that was being told in the ring where he was surprising himself with his moves. Hell, QT's already been in a match in the company to begin with, but I get their reasoning for it. If they played it up like he had been wrestling sporatically since his semi-retirement, and was rusty and nervous, it would have made a lot of sense, but I felt like they were acting surprised on commentary, like he was Santino when he was picked out of the crowd or something. Either way, he had a hell of a showing, which is what I love about AEW right now. Even their jobbers have the chance to put together an amazing match if they get a chance.

QT's one of those journeyman talents that never quite made it, but is a good hand to have backstage. Probably why Cody brought him in as a producer and is also going to use his wrestling school as a developmental outlet.

Between QT's amazing performance and Alex Reynolds getting a bit of a story with the Dark Order trying to recruit him, I think last night did a fair amount of good in giving AEW's jobbers a purpose beyond "guys there to make the top guys look good".

He's no Q.T McWhiskers, but in time he might learn to shoot rainbow lasers from his eyes

Personally I thought doing an even worse cross Rhodes than MJF whilst teaming with Cody was a great heel move however

Motherf***er in here like a sitcom dude doing shtick while also doing amazing wrestling moves.
He was over in my house very early in this match. Keep him around as an underdog punching bag.

AEW's done a good job of getting me interested in their underdog acts. Makes me wonder who'd win in a triple threat between QT, Avalon, and Cutler.

I just want to say - Every time I see "QT Marshall" written down, I imagine Buster Bluth saying "Aren't you a QT?"
