Best known for Do The Right Thing, he also starred in tons of movies & TV, such as The Godfather II, One Upon a Time in America, The Last Don, Léon: The Professional, Jacob's Ladder and Moonstruck. He was 86. RIP. www.foxnews.com/entertainment/danny-aiello-dead

always enjoyed his work
was just talking to someone earlier today about Leon: The Professional, even mentioned his character saying he's like a bank, but but better because nobody knocks off old Tony
RIP

I don't care what anybody says, Hudson Hawk is a fun movie. I even played the Nintendo game.
What? Fight me. 😁

Hudson Hawk was a decent enough musical comedy that had the misfortune to come around at the worst possible time in Bruce Willis' career, right after they wanted to catapult him into the role of A-list action hero. They completely mismarketed it and people judge it by the standards of something it was never intended to be.
Anyway, Danny Aiello was in so many classic films, I hope he was proud of his body of work because he absolutely should have been. Rest in peace.

"You see this place?! I BUILT THIS f***IN' PLACE!!! WITH MY BARE f***IN' HANDS!!!"
Aiello's performance is so crucial to Do The Right Thing. He walks the line of making you like Sal but also seeing him as having real, ugly flaws just under the surface perfectly. He could've leaned one way or the other too hard very easily but he just played it so well.

Danny Aiello was the uncle of Yankees play-by-play man and radio talk show host Michael Kay. He spent a lot of his show today talking about how special a person he was and struggled at times to keep his composure. Spike Lee even called into the show and they shared some fond memories together, and you could hear Spike choking up over the phone. Made it a hard listen, but Aiello sounded like a man who touched a lot of lives not just as an actor, but as a person.
