Honestly, I would have never expected Dave to be even half as successful as he's wound up being, he's been killing it as Drax in Guardian's of the Galaxy; he's been in a Bond film as the bodyguard to the main villain in the manner of Oddjob or Jaws from the days of old school Bond. I just think it's cool that Batista has managed to carve out a little career for himself in Hollywood.

He’s done way better then I ever expected him to. Never expected him to get any leading roles, that’s for damn sure. And he’s pretty entertaining too, so I’m quite impressed with how things have gone.

Easily the best run of a wrestler-turned-actor. Rock may have made more money as a lead, but Batista's really gone out and taken a diverse range of roles to test himself as an actor.

GOTG and it’s accompanying films is a solid legacy, but also James Bond, Blade Runner, Dune.... Dude really built something here.

Some of his direct-to-video stuff is really solid, while even the bad stuff usually has a good performance from him. After his first couple of movies I was ready to write him off as just another wrestler who winds up playing nothing but heavies and henchmen, but all credit to the guy, he proved me wrong.

He must have a heck of an agent to land a gig in the Marvel universe and be in Bond.
Not taking away from his talents, but I'm sure there are far better actors that are 'never have beens'.

He's got a lot of talent and a lot of presence. I think he actually benefits from a late start, since his being a bit aged gives him a gravity he wouldn't have had if he was making this acting run in the mid-2000s.

The scene between him and Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner is awesome and sells the hell out of the movie. We get right away that this dude is someone not to be f***ed with, and that Gosling has to anyways.

Did anyone see Stuber? Is that worth a look?
I think he’s pretty good, he’s found his niche and is killing it.

He's definitely got a solid career as a character actor ahead of him. He's a better actor than most "heavy"-types and his comedic timing is really great.

I haven’t seen it, but I did recently see that Hotel Artemis was ranked #1 on a list of 43 underrated movies you’ve probably never heard of but should watch.

He really gets to lean into his comedic chops as Drax in the Guardians movies.

Funny as f*** in the Marvel movies. Happy for the guy as he gambled on himself in what many saw as a risky bet.

Batista was apparently at WB recently too sparking a rumor that he could be cast as Bane in a future project, possibly Matt Reeves' Batman movie. I absolutely think he could nail that role and be something special.

Rock did too before he blew up as an action star It's the action stuff that got him his money after all those years with Disney True. Dwayne has some range too, I won't deny, and I can't throw shade on him just being Rock in action movies that make all the money. Still, I think Batista's output is vastly superior to Rock's pre-action movie god output.

It is a bit of weird thing because Rock was never really a sidekick kind of guy Batista basically hit a role and excelled in it immediately. Good ensemble guy that can be featured in a role like Stuber every now and again
