Well deserved. He had the best year of his career, ended the year as a champion, New Day is still killing the merch game and now they have their own podcast. He's killin it right now.

Locking in high level money until you're 43 is hard to turn down. Hopefully he continues to be used well in those five years.

Hopefully he at least sends a Christmas ham to Cody,Kenny, and the Bucks. Because these new contracts are for sure stupid large on account of those guys. Kofi deserves it though, he’s one of the good dudes I think.

Hope Kofi's making the big boy money off of this one. He's one of those veterans the company had better do right by the rest of his life.

What Kofi gets he deserves I think the rise of an alternative employment opportunity, one that has had some crossover in video game content, helped in getting more money for Kofi. Weren't most contracts 3 years, now suddenly everyone is getting 5 years. I think discounting the AEW effect on contracts in WWE going forward isn't warranted.

Reports stated that new recruits in the Performance Center were being offered 5 year contracts. For seasoned talent, some sign 3 but there have been reports over the years that some go longer than that. Orton signed a 10 year contract in 2010. Owens for example signed a 5 year contract early last year which was way before Cody, the Bucks and such even had All In. We can also go back further to the 00s and 90s even when talent were getting 5 years or longer.

Unlike Moxley he can have little creative complaints, most of The New Days act comes from their own ideas so Vince evidently listens more often than not when they pitch him something as a result AEW has little to offer him, he has a young family so Japan is not a good fit and no one else could afford him.

WWE is good to him (title loss not included) and he's good to WWE.
Kofi probably has a job for as long as he wants it and when he hangs it up he'd still be part of the family for life.
He's one of the safest bets for resigning at any given point now. I assume that contract pays nice as hell too.

AEW just existing probably helps force WWE to pay these boys and girls what they're actually worth. Doesn't mean AEW needs praise though, they're not the ones directly involved. WWE just has to do what's right by their guys to keep them happy. The market is fair now where the wrestlers have a bargaining chip.

Precisely this These dudes have had Vince ear and a good control over their character for basically the whole 5 year run they have had. He's been treated good, he's got comfort, and now he has more money in his wallet. Really no where else makes sense unless he felt he had to make a move

Kofi catching fire early in the year and riding it to a Mania title win had nothing at all to do with AEW. Of course, I definitely hope he leveraged his 6 months as a main eventer into a sweetened deal. He's earned it.

He's got 5 years left to dominate. He's 38 so we've got 5 years of him doing stunts.
