Thank god it never got off the ground, but D&D's "What if the South won the Civil War" drama was a disaster waiting to happen.

I'm also sure there's been like 4 different books about that idea, too.

Not necessarily defending it because I’m not that familiar, but is that really all that different from The Man In The High Castle? The Man In The High Castle has a fairly solid, albeit loosely-based, source material bedrock being based on a Phillip K Dick novel and has a solid creator in Frank Spotnitz, who wrote for Millenium and X-Files. Confederate, meanwhile, would have come from two guys who admitted that they were mostly bullshitting their way through Game of Thrones and who pretty much dropped the ball on the final season. I have no faith that they would have been able to make anything close to nuanced with a story about slavery existing in modern times. Also *points at literally everything*

David Arquette winning the WCW World Championship I mean, that was not the most disastrous decision. I could see a logic where that is a decision I would have contemplated had I been in charge of WCW at the time. In essence, DDP screwed with Jarrett by causing him to lose the belt to a joker like Arquette, which was the ultimate troll move that did generate legitimate press for the company. The actual bad decision was to have him actually defend the belt even once. He should have shown up the next week, posed with the belt, then admit that he was in no way shape or form worthy or capable to hold the belt and abdicate his title.

Deciding season finales should end on cliffhangers...especially when networks start getting cancellation crazy.
