FYI
It seems like many ROH “exclusive” workers have begun taking non ROH bookings. Both Marty and Flip are booked for Northeast Wrestling in January. Also, I believe TK and Taven are advertised for the Northeast Wrestling December show.
Generally ROH has allowed “appearances” for talent, but Flip is advertised to be in action this January.
I know NEW has a close relationship with lots of AEW and ROH workers...
But I was wondering has anybody noticed ROH guys advertised to work other places?

Actually www.northeastwrestling.com has BOTH Darby Allin AND Flip Gordon advertised to be in action in January. That on top of the Rock and Roll Express and Road Warrior Animal... Wonder if ROH has some sort of internal change heading into 2020. In the past once guys signed exclusive to ROH they were no longer allowed to be advertised to be in action...

Marty isn't exclusive, he's working without a contract

Didn't Marty's ROH contract officially end this month?
ROH seems to be a lot more lax with its workers taking indie bookings, especially since they can't exactly make a career out of just wrestling for ROH.

Marty isn't exclusive, he's working without a contract What about Flip? Taven? TK? Flip should be under the same contract he's been on since last year, so this does appear to be a change. I hope it is; given all the bad shit ROH/Sinclair management has been outed for this past year, this would be a nice, solid step in the right direction to do right by the talent. Would just hope they're not pulling a TNA and skimming a whole bunch off the top of their earnings. I get not having ROH contracted wrestlers appearing on AEW, Impact, MLW, etc., but there really shouldn't be much reason why they couldn't take indy dates to bring in some extra income.

ROH lets its wrestlers work indies. Not anything noteworthy here, that's been standard practice for pretty much everyone for a while; how much people use it and if anyone has a baked-in 'more money for exclusivity' thing who knows, but BOLA always has a bunch of ROH guys and obviously The Bucks were working the indie grind the whole time they were with ROH. There's going to be places they can't work, but for random indies working towns, no TV deal and especially no iPPV of the sort, they can take on whatever they want.

I think a lot of what ROH has allowed has been limited to PWG (see: Jeff Cobb still working there). As I recall, the Bucks weren't really doing the indy grind once they got the ROH/NJPW double contracts.

In a way I’m asking for the sake of conversation but this is not business as usual. Maybe mirroring Impact allowing workers to keep control of their other dates?

They actually headlined some Northeast Wrestling stadium shows with that match. I’m curious because ROH and AEW both have ties to Northeast Wrestling and Flip has not been able to wrestle on shows since signing with ROH. They have been allowed to do meet and greets and/or unadvertised promos but it’s interesting to see an influx of ROH guys working shows they weren’t allowed to work previously.

Flip has not been able to wrestle on shows since signing with ROH. That’s not necessarily true. He wrestled an OTT show in Belfast as a replacement to Will Ospreay but that seems to be an outlier with these things.

I’m pretty sure we’re seeing a change happening here, but we can chalk it up to business as usual if that’s what everyone insists.

As I recall, the Bucks weren't really doing the indy grind once they got the ROH/NJPW double contracts. I think they still did some shows here and there, though I am not sure how much was exclusivity, and how much was them being bone tired. I know that was a major contributing factor to the formation of AEW: they got exhausted working both ROH and NJPW, and offered various compromises that neither company was amicable to. Couple that with them enjoying setting up All In with Cody, and Tony Khan coming calling after, and AEW was an opportunity that came along when they really needed it.

I have a pretty boiler plate ROH deal and I can choose to do things with permission.
With that said, a big reason I am with ROH beyond loyalty and love of the company is the nice schedule for nice money. A lot of wrestlers are in that boat, as well. If you are making very, very good money, why put additional wear and tear on your body? That's one of the benefits of being signed by ROH, Impact, or AEW right now, probably the first two more so.
I kept my 9 to 5 when I signed and everyone is accommodating. I don't take outside gigs because that time at home with my wife and kids is more valuable to me than whatever anyone might pay me. Again, that is likely a common refrain you'd hear amongst the locker room. Or for guys like Taven, Dalton Castle, Lethal, Briscoes, PJ Black they do go to Mexico, Europe, Canada etc. from time to time but it has to be something worth their time that they really wanted to do.
