people.com/movies/new-jackass-movie-2021-crews-first-film-ryan-dunns-death/I didn't realize it was still a thing. I know that there were three movies and it was popular, especially back in the early 2000s (nearly 20 years ago), and had also spawned sequels. Let's not forget the spinoff Bad Grandpa. However, I had no idea that there was going to be another film coming out. Is Jackass still a cultural phenomenon that people still want to see some guys roll down the street in a shopping cart trying to hit against something? Or even jump off the roof to land in a pool with some random objects? I am just curious about this.

I'd be surprise if Bam was involved with this

Although the third pandered to the 3D market (understandably as it was huge at that time), it was still funny. And even though this will be men in their forties acting like teenagers, I’ll still watch it.

I only ever saw one of these movies back in '03, but I was obsessed with the show and the various spin-offs/rip-offs like CKY and Dirty Sanchez. Not a healthy obsession admittedly.

I've never remotely understood the appeal, but my best friend's into it so neat I guess.

Teen me loved the second movie. Liked the show enough, and watched Wild Boyz whenever it was on.
I don’t know if it would still appeal to the older “more sophisticated” (I say that with the heaviest air quotes) but it would probably be a fun trip down nostalgia with old “TV buddies”, most of whom I haven’t seen in years and years.

I always liked the stuff in Jackass that wasn’t disgusting or some sort of weird prank. Stuff that usually got shuffled off into Jackass 2.5 or 3.5 or whatever. Like this stuff wasn’t shocking enough to put in the film but here’s these doofuses trying ride a surfboard across some barrels. That kind of goofy shit was appealing because it would remind me of doing stupid stuff with my buddies in high school.
I would take another movie of that. Not so much the drinking each other’s sweat and shitting on stuff.

Aren't these guys all in their 40's by now? Didn't one of them die in a car crash? Are they having mid-life crises now?

I’m a little torn about this. I loved Jackass and CKY back in the day, still have all of them on DVD but I’ve had a hard time watching any of it since Dunn died and Bam completely self destructed.
If the whole crew comes back, I’ll probably check it out.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they did this to inspire Bam to get sober. That's pretty much how the 3rd (I think) movie came to be, but with Steve-O. They told him "We'll do another movie, but not until you're clean" and it worked.
Not saying they are doing the same here, but with Bam's downward spiral over the last 8 years, it wouldn't surprise me if they did it to give him something to look forward to and a reason to care.

Everytime he talks you can tell it's so thought out. Seeing him now warms my heart

They all seem to talk about Bam like they mostly know him through Instagram now, and the dude looks absolutely terrible these days.
If he’s involved I hope they have a plan. If he’s not, I hope they at least gave him a heads up before announcing.

I always liked the goofy shit that Jackass did. Not so much the gross-out stuff.

I loved Jackass. I’m sure they can pull it off and it’ll be funny but damn if it isn’t a little jarring to imagine it at this point in their lives lol..

ok. I hummed the guitar riff before I clicked the thread. The show’s choice of music, costumes, etc. gave it a really unique aesthetic that’s often been imitated. At least one critic compared it to Dadaist (sp?) art, and I don’t think they were wrong.

I love Jackass, but I don't think even this will get Bam sober. He fell apart when Dunn died and never recovered.

Isn't Johnny Knoxville kind of above this now with his star power?
The man has been in other better films then Jackass ones
