I would say Sting's heel turn in TNA didn't work either. Vince Russo's fascination with turning Sting heel will always amaze me. I liked the MEM in TNA though Sting def tried harder as a heel in TNA than he did in WCW. It's just nobody is going to boo legendary Sting. Kurt Angles, yes because he can play a good asshole but Sting was a tough case I enjoyed the MEM as well but I agree nobody was going to boo Sting because he was a great heel. By that point I was booing Sting because he was an embarrassment to his self and TNA, main eventing their ppvs as world champion while wrestling in a t-shirt because he was so out of shape and barely able to move much less wrestle.

wasn't Eugene a heel for a week on Smackdown or am I misremembering? I think I might have been the only person who liked his heel turn I remember him trying to force Divas to give him a hug because he's "special" It had a fair amount of potential but the problem was that he went from being outsmarted and taken advantage of by various heels to being outsmarted and made to look like an ass by DX. There was zero thought put into what to do when he did turn heel, so much that they basically retconned his turn after like a month, tops.

Sting's heel turn in WCW's dying days didn't work at all. I was at the event where he turned heel. The crowd popped like crazy when he hit Hogan with the bat. It was such a stupid heel turn that it was completely scrapped after about a month. Had he turned against somebody like Luger, a revived people's champion DDP, or Rey Mysterio, it had a chance to work. Against Hogan? No way in hell was a WCW audience ever gonna cheer Hogan over Sting.

2012-13 heel Punk was almost unwatchable for me because of how forced it was. This made me stop caring about Punk at all. They took one of the most interesting wrestlers and characters since the Attitude era and made him mundane and pointless. Just so he could lose the title to the Rock, and then have the Rock lose to Cena.

becky's heel "turn" after attacking charlotte after the win at summerslam in the tripe threat. starts the week with a promo about the fans not having her back (as they cheered her wildly- after cheering her wildly for attacking charlotte in the first place), within days that part gets edited out of the youtube version of the promo and by the time the next show aired she was face again.
kinda like bayley finally snapping on sasha where the crowd cheers her on as commentary tries to tell everyone what a deplorable act that was (except corey who said something along the lines of "couldn't happen to a better person")

Sometimes I think WWE is right about us being idiots.

Eddie Guerrero turning heel on Tajiri on Smackdown in July 2003, the fans wouldn't boo him and he would turn back into a babyface a month later. Of course his heel turn in 05 was done much better as he changed his theme, didn't smile as much and was more sinister. For me it felt like a comedy turn "look what you did to my car!!" Eddie made it funny he didnt want to get booed. I was at the SmackDown show the week after the turn and man, people did not want to boo him. The Toronto crowd absolutely loved him.
