This probably could/should fit in the free matches thread (so mods please move it at your discretion), but figured AEW fans would enjoy it specifically. It's a free and good match Marvelous recently uploaded to their YouTube channel featuring Nyla Rose. The match (some shaky camera at first but stabilizes) is Nyla, who had wrestled/done training in Marvelous prior to AEW, returning to Japan for a brief stint since joining AEW last December to team with Asuka (not the WWE one obviously, but a really out of this world freelancer) against Takumi Iroha (the ace of Marvelous) and Syuri (a freelancer at the time who is now signed to Stardom. Shida's longtime tag partner and sometimes rival, also really good but I'm saying this about everybody here lol). It's a really fun, short match that gets really good at the end, and shows Nyla working in Japan. The other Asuka really needs a first name added to avoid confusion.

She was Asuka back when Kana/Asuka was still in Japan

While she used the name first, and uses different kanji, she had plans to wrestle in the US this year before the pandemic and said when wrestling overseas will go by the name Veny to avoid confusion.

Putting him in DO never made sense. He's never even in their BTE skits. Colt's been with the DO the last few episodes of BTE after that seemingly never ending angle with him needing face Surgery Can't remember the last time he actually had a match on Dynamite Excellent match with Adam Page, IIRC.

That was a good one. I think it's easy to forget it because of how little of that tournament wasn't a foregone conclusion.

Kayfabe fan theory: Sammy "fixed" Matt Hardy. Broken Matt began when he took a massive bump in TNA and had a split personality ever since. Then the feud with Guevara happened with another huge bump and there's been no signs of the ancient God persona since. It's like sitcom amnesia logic.

I assume you saw how "NBA Twitter" reacted to AEW? Yeah, not great. A shame casuals are so bitter and jaded towards wrestling and what they think it only can be... but that's gonna be what AEW suffers through as they grow.

"NBA Twitter" is the absolute worst subset of sports fans in existence, and this was before them reacting to AEW. Read some of the stuff they talk about on a regular basis and you'll realize the "young progressive" fans that the NBA claims to have is actually worse than whatever they claim to be replacing.

I just found out today that Cutler used to look like this: Him and his brother feuding with the RockNES Monsters like ten years ago is the entire reason I got back into indy wrestling.

So there's this Tumblr post that goes around now and again, how the all-pink-clad "Barbie girl" is not the opposite of the all-black-clad "goth girl," that the scale does not go from "all pink" to "all black," the scale goes from "wearing all one color" to "not doing that."
Anyway, Alex Gracia should have a gothy teammate like Elayna Black or Vipress at some point.

Spoiler contains discussion of a masked character's identity, I know some people don't like that. {Spoiler} Recently learned who Luchasaurus is behind the mask. As someone who used to watch Big Brother (though actually the last season I watched was a couple before the season Austin was on), I'm incredibly amused. One thing I was heavily aware of was that the Big Brother subreddit hated that guy. And now he's a fairly well beloved character on AEW. Funny stuff.

He goes into it a little, and also it's a great interview.

Just a miscellaneous hope for Elevation or whatever ends up being the show name for the developmental side of Dark:
I kind of hope that they keep the wrestlers-as-audience aspect. It's a nice way to mark it as a developmental show instead of the big show.

I'd even have wrestlers from stables watching the show in the audience, with commentators hinting that they're doing scouting to see who can join their ranks.

Peter Avalon had 4 times as many wins as the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020.
