The guy was never going to be a world champion or anything and you could argue that he had quite a big amount of success considering that he got a gimmick that parodied the NWO over in the original ECW; like, I thought that the ECW fans would've shat all over Meanie and the BWO, but Meanie made it work.
Then there was that weird time where he became 'The Blue Boy' and slimmed down an insane amount to the point where if it wasn't for the blue hair and facial hair, you'd have no idea that it was even the Blue Meanie.
If he wasn't doing the same dance moves as Meanie, I don't think he looked anything like the Blue Meanie that people know and (hopefully) love.
Not only did he get the BWO over alongside Nova and Stevie, he also wasn't even bad in the ring, especially when he was 300+lbs and he could still bust out a pretty damn good looking moonsault. I think if the WWE wanted to, they could've pushed Meanie in the Attitude Era to be on the level of someone like The Godfather.
Another reason why I appreciate the Meanie is because of his Twitter, not only is he a reasonable, down to earth guy, he seems to not be bitter or jaded in the same way that someone like Al Snow is. (then again, he really wouldn't have any ground to stand on complaining about the current product when you consider that his biggest success came as a parody of the NWO.)
This isn't me claiming that Meanie is underrated, considering he didn't do too badly for himself in the grand scheme of things, but he's one of those guys who deserves to be remembered and appreciated for making some of the goofiest and weirdest shit (Bluedust, for example.) work when it, honestly, should've died on its arse.
