I’m not sure of the long-term viability of the records concept. I like the rankings system (as long as they stick to following the rankings when awarding title matches) but if the records reset every January but the past records still count so the records are both cumulative and year to year, and the records matter when it comes to rankings but strength of opponent and victory matters as well (but is not explained), it just seems like it’s too convoluted to make a difference. I think it is pretty clear that the all time records is just for trivia/accolades sake. The yearly records are what matters for title shots. Still,I would rather just have the yearly ones.Sometimes less is more How is that clear? The tweet they sent out makes it seem like cumulative record will count more in the beginning of the year and then annual records will count more as the year goes on.

Thank god they do this every January, it's just much more easier to follow and think straight - beginnings and endings, etc.
