159. Howard the Duck (1986) 160. Richie Rich's Christmas Wish (1998) 161. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)This has been on Netflix streaming since the start of the month, and I kept meaning to watch it but things just kept getting in the way. This is still, without a doubt, the great movie featuring Abe Vigoda ever made. Yes, it's even better then Good Burger.

some of the movies I've seen within the past week or so:
78. I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957) Wouldn't really recommend it, but I did enjoy it for what it was. Meant as a relatively cheap horror movie to sell to the emerging teenage market.
79. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1958) Very good Western with Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne. Has a different kind of political message from most in the genre.
80. Atlantic City (1980) Strong performances from Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon. Very good movie.
81. The Shootist (1976) John Wayne's final performance, and it's one of his best. The story works well as his Hollywood farewell.
82. The Cowboys (1972) Pretty good, but not among the best John Wayne movies.
83. El Dorado (1967) It's a lot of fun, but very similar to Rio Bravo. There was one quick moment that is hard to watch because of racist attempts at comedy. Still, if you liked Rio Bravo, you might as well watch this one too.
84: 3:10 to Yuma (2007) Great movie. Better than the original which is also good. Feels like it was overlooked. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are great in this.
85. Fort Apache (1948) Good, but not great. Not among the best John Ford movies. Feels like it would have been a bit of a spectacle of a film at the time, not so much known for its great story.

#207 - Avengers: Infinity War *Disney+ This was more ambitious than all the prior superhero movies. For the most part, this was very well done. They paired people together in great fashion, the action was great, and there plenty of memorable moments. Everything involving Thanos was nearly perfect. He felt like a massive threat at every turn, while also getting enough development to feel like a real character. This is an epic that is one of the best comic book movies ever. It’s the best “part one” I’ve ever seen with one of the most heart-wrenching endings ever. [*****] It was probably the best Marvel movie. Too bad Endgame just didn’t live up. Aww, I loved Endgame. I slightly prefer Infinity War, though.

#208 - Castle in the Sky
*HBO Max
My third Miyazaki film and the worst one so far. That being said, it still has a lot of good going for it. The animation is gorgeous and some of the action scenes are better than expected. The main characters just fell kind of flat for me and I didn't have as much fun this time around. [***]

135. The Perfect Daughter - A Lifetime movie that I DVR'ed recently. I had recorded this before but the DVR ran out of room. So I had to delete it. But as luck would have it, I found that it was airing again, so I recorded it and watched it. Being a fan of the sitcom "Mom," I noticed that the actress who played Anna Faris's character's daughter was in it and wondered how she would do in a movie like this. I am a sucker for TV movies, especially Lifetime movies and also Hallmark movies. This was no exception. The performances were actually pretty good. Yes, it was typical Lifetime fare, but that's not always a bad thing.

169. Beyond Re-Animator *Amazon Prime* For a early-2000’s sequel this was damn good. I missed Bruce Abbott as Dan but the other guy filled the void just fine. And Jeffery Combs is so good as Herbert West it didn’t matter. I’m very impressed by the Re-Animator trilogy.

41. Trolls World Tour
Princess Poppy of the “Pop” trolls has to defend her kingdom against the “Rock” trolls who are trying to take over the troll world. Is it wrong that I was rooting for the “Rock” trolls the whole time?

#209 - Palm Springs
*Hulu
A clever take on the Groundhog Day formula. It exceeds because it's smart, witty, and actually funny. Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti are tremendous as the leads, while JK Simmons might steal the show in his supporting role. It's heartwarming and just a great time. I loved it. [****]

160. Richie Rich's Christmas Wish (1998) 161. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) 162. Dragnet (1987)Latest arrival from Netflix. Geez, remember when Tom Hanks was just a straight-up wacky comedian? So long ago. He really needs to make that Turner & Hooch sequel. So yeah, fun, underrated movie.

I loved this movie. It had funny moments, plenty of heart, a great story, tremendous acting, and some poignant emotional beats. I can’t say enough about how fantastic this was. [****½]

171. Raw Force (but I like its other title “Kung Fu Cannibals” way more) *DVD* There was a lot going on in this movie. Not much of it particularly good. It seemed like it should have been a movie adaptation of a tv show. There were so many characters and they all looked the same and it felt like I was missing something. It was like watching horny, coked-up Gilligans Island but with three times the cast. Maybe it should have been longer than 86 minutes but I can only handle so much trash myself. It’s a hilarious movie that just takes way too long to get to the meat (the violence, not the nudity; it’s crazy abundant). The Kung Fu fighting wasn’t really all that bad, although they purposely went overboard with some parts. I really liked it but a smaller cast would have been better. And more zombie cannibals. 172. Savage Man...Savage Beast *DVD* This was a pretty tough watch. Pretty much a documentary on the harsh life of the hunt. Lots of violence against both human and animal, although the validity of what’s real or not has been debated for years. I saw a shorter version so I’m not sure what exactly was cut? The human stuff doesn’t bother me but the animal stuff is too much for me anyway. Especially since I only stayed up and watched a second movie tonight because a kitten was snuggled up on me sleeping. It shares a lot in common with the documentary being made in Cannibal Holocaust. Right down to what was or wasn’t real. There’s some gross stuff. And some pretty f***ed up stuff too. But all-in-all it gets pretty boring by the end. [EDIT] from what I can gather the version I have cut out some of the gorier bits of the lion attack on the man (which is available on youtube uncut and wasn’t really too graphic), the part with the dogs ripping the fox apart (which I’m fine with, my version just showed the hunter throwing the fox into the pack of dogs) and the castration/scalping is cut out. ...but I still got all the ritual masturbation in all it’s glory.

#211 - The Prestige
*Blu-Ray
One of my favorite Nolan movies, which is saying something. Bale and Jackman are great, as are Johansson and Caine. It's filled with an incredible amount of twists and turns that always keeps you interested and engaged. The premise is awesome and there's just a coolnes to this whole thing. I love almost everything about this. [****½]

161. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) 162. Dragnet (1987) 163. Planet of the Apes (1968)DVR'd this off the TCM. Been wanting to re-visit the original Planet of the Apes movies for awhile now. I haven't seen the second one since I was in Junior High, and I don't think I've ever seen the fifth. Unfortunately this was the only one I could find that I didn't have to pay extra money for. So yeah, a good old-school 70's style Sci-Fi movie. Yes, I know it was made in 1968, but it really has more in common with the direction we would see Sci-Fi go in the 70's. 164. Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984)Found this on BBC America on Demand just like I did Star Trek II. I've been meaning to watch this since I saw Wrath of Khan last week, but things kept coming up. So they say all odd numbered Trek films suck, and I can think of no worse Trek movie then this. None whatsoever. There's no way a future Star Trek movie could ever be worse then this. Just unimaginable. Ok, seriously, a step down from Wrath of Khan, but still a perfectly serviceable fun popcorn movie. My biggest problem with it was how anti-climatic the final battle between Kirk and Kruge felt. Even something as simple as a musical score would've spiced it up. But otherwise I don't regret killing two hours on it.

173. Body Melt *USB* I wanted to give this another go after watching it around a year ago and not being as impressed as I hoped. It’s gross and dirty but just not as gory as I was hoping for. I always come across one review that read “With over 150 ways to melt your body, it's one of the most innovative and versatile horror films ever. Guaranteed to make you squirm." But there’s not over 150 body’s melted in this. Not even close. It’s definitely weird though. And super gory when it is gory. I was just expecting it to be dialed to 8000/10.
