This is a rumour that I don't know if it has any backing in reality or fact, but, honestly, I'm a fan of Idris and wouldn't mind seeing him as a Bond, but I don't think it should be because of a social obligation to have a black Bond, but it's because I think Idris is a damn good actor and he'd pull the role off well.
Also, I love Daniel Craig, but I think that it's time for him to go on and do other stuff, I wonder if he's sick of playing Bond considering he's been doing it for so long. I know people would raise the pitchforks if Elba was chosen to be the next Bond, but I think he could do the role justice considering in every film I've seen him in, he's always been one of the best parts of it.
In fact, the only thing that might be working against him is his age, he's not exactly a spring chicken.

Nope. Nothing to do with his skin colour, completely down to my gut feeling that he’s just not right for the role.

And Craig has gone off and done other stuff. Knives Out is currently heading towards a quarter billion at the Box Office.

I think he said he'd have been up for it when he was younger but he feels he's too old for it now.

He's aged too much to feel fresh. Plus, Elba is a better villain actor. I'd rather see Chiwetel Ejiofor or Tom Hardy get consideration.

His age is a way bigger factor than race. The man is almost 48. You probably want a Bond for 4-5 movies or say a decade a more. Idris is in great shape, but he'd be in his 50s by his 2nd movie.

He'd probably be 50 by the time filming commenced on his first movie. And that's if they cast him right now and begin working on a script before No Time to Die is even out of theatres. Daniel Craig has been Bond for 14 years, and while I feel his run has gone on for about five years too long his age in Casino Royale felt about right for him to carry the franchise. Someone in the 33-38 age bracket would be about right.

Give it to Cavil. He wants it, he'd be the right age range, and his Man from UNCLE character might as well have been.

Cavil for Bond.
Elba for Bond Villain.

Henry Cavil is pretty much perfect, so I’m sure Tom Holland will end up getting it.

I'm not a huge fan of big names playing Bond and personally would go with either Jack Lowden (Collins in Dunkirk) or Jonah Hauer-King (Harry from World on Fire TV series)

We don’t need another Roger Moore in A View to a Kill situation. He was 58 in 1985 and still playing Bond. He looked horrible.

I think quite highly of Chiwetel Ejiofor but would rather see him as an agent from a rival organization. Not necessarily an evil organization, but a rival one. I don't know if the Bond franchise is ready to try that, though.
